The kitchen was where Will and Kate chose to spend part of their time in Quebec, Canada.
US Magazine reports: “Bon appétit!
Just prior to jetting off to their next tour stop Saturday, Prince William and Duchess Kate took in an intimate cooking class at the Quebec Tourism and Hotel Institute.
Donning personalized chef’s whites for the 40-minute lesson, William, 29, and his bride, also 29, learned to make a variety of dishes, including an herb and cranberry-crusted lamb and a lobster souffle.
During the visit, William kept the kitchen staff laughing — all while trying to sneak in a few snacks. Pretending to pinch strawberries from a bowl and dipping a spoon into melted chocolate for a taste, the Prince eventually became a bit impatient while waiting for his dishes to cook.
“Is there a time limit?” he asked. “Is it like [BBC TV cooking show] Ready Steady Cook? Do we eat as we go? I’m quite hungry!”
Elsewhere in the kitchen, William’s bride seemed more focused. Student teacher Theresa Rindress guided the Duchess through a recipe for an amuse-bouche of foie gras on a toasted brioche roll with apple cider jelly. “I showed her how to hold the knife and position her hand so that she did not cut herself. She was fantastic,” Rindress told reporters of her chef-in-training. “She was very competent with the knife.”
While some of their items fell flat during the end-of-class tasting, William was able to impress his cooking teacher, Jean-Louis Themistocle with one dish. “This is the best cucumber I have ever seen,” the chef beamed after the royal produced an amuse-bouche of goat cheese, baby cucumber and elderberry jam.
Heading to Quebec Sunday, the couple will continue their tour of Canada with an inter-denominational service on board the HMCS Montreal and a visit to La Maison Dauphine. They will also attend the Freedom of the City Ceremony at Quebec’s City Hall.”

THE ROYAL “LICK ME” STAMPS GET RECALLED DUE TO BIRTHDAY DATE BUNGLE
It was a very sweet idea for the New Zealand Postal Service to issue a range of “lick me” products, for customers of a royal theme to send their mail with.
Unfortunately, you can try your darndest to be sweet, but sometimes genuine mistakes, muck ups and bungles happen, as this story shows.
The pack, which sold for $19.90, was released this week but included the wrong birth date for the prince in the text.
Instead of the correct date of June 21, 1982, the pack said Prince William was born on May 21.
The mistake was not on either of the two $2.40 stamps of Prince William and Kate Middleton released yesterday by NZ Post but in the text of the presentation pack.
The “lick me” products go on sale again in packaged form, when the error has been amended. What a crazy country at the post box! Love it. Getting mail for months with royal wedding paraphernalia stamps is a Kiwi tradition. Go here to see that in effect. :)
