THERESA DOES CROSSWORD YOGA, MAORI JAZZ POETRY IN NEW ORLEANS, FORMOSA HISTORY, DR. MATT TELLS ME IAN AND JAMIE ARE IN TOWN FROM CHINA – AND SIR ELTON JOHN AND BILLY JOEL ARE OVER THE CELEBRITY REHAB HOLLYWOOD TREND ALREADY TOO

Crossword girl sits opposite me in the cafe, her feet in a cross-legged position on her chair as she scribbles, like it’s yoga class over coffee. It’s good to see someone writing in this day and age. Like, with a pen. I jump on Facebook and see my friend Dale from Wellington, Aotearoa-New Zealand wants to head to New Orleans for the Jazz & Heritage Festival this year. How cultured of her.

Dale must already be over racking up ten out of ten tans in Hawaii. Dale did that twice last year and loved it, but perhaps New Orleans would be more fun. She reads books anyway, so how’s that going to mesh with our spicy crawfish gumbo, serious paella palate research and sarsaparilla vodka martini sessions, with all the beaut music that dance-loving Maoris will instantly want to do, if I go with her? The world’s hottest books list, might feel a bit neglected, this US trip of Dale’s.

Then there’s all those vampire movie sets we’ll have to visit in New Orleans too, like where the Twilight Saga kids (Kristen Stewart, Alex Meraz, Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson) all are filming, or where Oscar winner Anna Paquin‘s True Blood cast film too, or even where Brad Pitt, Kirsten Dunce and Tom Cruise filmed the Anne Rice novel adaptation too, of that film, Interview with a Politician Vampire we’ll have to get photographs of at – as well, if we do New Orleans with a Hollywood Maori twist. I don’t know if I can cope without my new Orthodox Jewish friends nearby for too long these days in such political-economic climates of the world; or when you pick up any newspaper. But I think I just might manage.

Of course we should as Dale and I always had movie dates in the nation’s capitol of Wellington when we both worked in government in New Zealand on Sundays, so we should keep our tradition going as US movie loving hori film buffs. Already the possibilities of fun in New Orleans are sounding tres exciting, and that’s months away. I know Dale already has friends there, so that could be rivetingly wild as Dale does biz too. She’s a bright spark with a fine sense of Nati humor, I have always been proud of to have as my friend.

Knowing Dale though, while I’m running around vampire set locations, she’ll be more green thinking conscience, like wanting to go and meet the real people of New Orleans who live in the lakes and inlet areas, to talk to them about how they managed to clean up the environment after the gulf oil spill crises with BP. Remember that?

FOLK GIRLS DUO, GAIA, BRING CLARITY TO VOODOO LOUNGE, HOUSE OF BLUES

Aura Baltrusaitis with “Doctor” Matthew Bryan

Alicia Spillias and Ken Spillias who flew in from Florida to see Gaia perform.

Gaia is a folk duet composed of Aura Baltrusaitis and Alicia Spillias. Tonight Gaia brought their unique girl folk sound to the Sunset Strip’s Voodoo Lounge venue at West Hollywood’s infamous House of Blues

The darkness lit with romantic gypsy-esque lighting of the Voodoo Lounge, was pierced tonight by the harmonic folk melodies of Gaia.

From the opening number you couldn’t help but hear Jewel folk soul. Their second song, Wishing and A’hoping exuded Bonnie Raitt edge and Stevie Nicks sassy confidence emanating from Aura‘s clear vocals. Gaia captivated their audience tonight from the outset with their wholesome image and bared-soul sound. They were not what you’d expect at rock capitol’s House of Blues–which is perhaps what made them even cooler tonight. They’re authentic with their honest lyrics, cascading layered harmonics of vocals, interwoven with violin strings and duel guitar song structures. A winning combo for a folk duo whose been together for only four months.

There’s a need for girls who sing folk like this in Hollywood. No pretention, just presence. They’re refreshing. Clearly, they represent a new layer of girl-next-door sweethearts singing subtle yet sexy songs, perhaps penned in their bedroom on guitar, with lyrics of growth, love, loss, independence of soul being showcased openly with others in concert as their song set sings of finding one’s voice on the journey, universally called life. I totally dig them.

HORIWOOD ON ADRIAN GRENIER ON CLUB VOYEUR FOR ENTOURAGE, WEST HOLLYWOOD PAPARAZZI

I like to provide ‘fresh content’ sometimes while I report on Hollywood celebrity news. I don’t go out of my way to do that though, just when I happen upon, I cut it into our view.

So, here’s Horiwood.Com on Entourage‘s Adrian Grenier at local hot spot, Club Voyeur while Adrian flexes his Hollywood profile and directs a promo.

In Hollywood terms, this is a coup, because Club Voyeur‘s whole appeal as a must go to, Young Hollywood club night spot, is the fact that no photographs or camera’s are allowed. However C.V makes special exceptions for Entourage stars, because they are local paparazzi for the club’s uber hot branding, that constantly says “follow us inside, we do the best fun ever.”

Normally, I would have jumped into the shot with Adrian, because creating images of Maori in Hollywood in reality–is  important for Maori young people to see (it rarely happens) and also Adrian is my own father’s second name and my whanau (family) back in Middle Earth and Australia would have loved that pic–especially the 13 nieces and nephews.

However, hanging out with a true celebrity like California’s Miss Elliette somedays, made me forget that I was meant to get that dream-inspiring shot with whipper snapper, relatively newbie, Hollywood celebrity– Adrian. Oh well! :)

And for some strange reason, I wanted an entourage of fresh home grown tomatoes after getting this photo for you tonight. That must be the hori appetite shining through, like true colors in Hollywood amidst world changing dreams of peace.

For the tomato-entourage thoughts. Lol! Enjoy!

~This Hollywood exclusive posting (fresh Hollywood entertainment media, OMG World Exclusive) going up for Matthew Bryan (aka Dr Fresh)–a Musical M.D in training, serving the better future of medicine in Puerto Rico right now–a dude who is both Entourage and C.V savvy while enrolled at UCLA Med School. LES FLEURS BLANC FOR ELVIRA by FRIEND GILDA GREGO

Tonight I got home to see flowers for beloved Elvira sent with love from her dear friend, Gilda Grego. They sit on the table, beneath her brother Emile Kanim‘s conceptual planning for his book on earth sustainability titled, Plentitude. Befitting.

~Remembering, dear. beautiful. Elvira~

To have friends who love your memory is comforting, reflective of a very gorgeous life as these les fleurs blanc bare witness to this fact. Friendship is like fragant flowers, being shared from the heart.

Aunt Elvira would have loved these hot numbers. Just the thought of them, let alone their presence. Thank you Gilda Grego for being a wonderful and thoughtful friend. Your written words say it all.

I write these words as Aunt Elvis’ great nephew and niece, Matthew and Kelly Bryan and friends may jet out to the Hollywood Bowl, to catch Planet Earth Live with the LA Philharmonic Orchestra performing outdoors to the BBC’s footage, underneath the stars. Or, just chill instead too. Again, the Earth is something this family celebrate. Nature is the best teacher.

And as the performance arts is what we all do, both on and off the camera or stage, or blogs, or music concerts or in movie theaters on the silver screen and physicians theater rooms, or island view beachside vistas, gardens, books, (a-hem) tennis courts, court rooms, military bands, canvases, sculpting blocks, jewelry shop windows or in stem cell research laboratories, the phosphorescent depths of the deep sea, the Hollywood Hills, the Mountains of Arizona, China or Hasbaya Lebanon and down the runways of fashion too, here’s a little Rita Hayworth for your entertainment tonight from 1946, especially for GG’s sweetness as a friend. Put the blame on sweetness and fun and a zest for life, always. Go Gilda Grego. And, go baby Elm too.

GORGEOUS

He said: Isn’t it a beautiful day?

She said: Gorgeous… Today is a Gorgeous day.

The way she said it, could have defined the new season’s fashion palate of Vogue Magazine as she uttered a single word. Needless to say her sexy vocabulary can make a grown man cry. Hot, classy, wordsmith Minx. :)
