KATY PERRY TALKS THE GRACE OF CRITICS

Speaking to MTV News, Katy Perry, the ‘E.T.’ singer said that her creativity and willingness to grow with each record has encouraged her critics to give her another chance.

“It’s interesting to see a lot of the commentary that goes along with growth,” she explained. “People are like, ‘OK, I like her’ finally, or like, ‘Damn, I hate to admit it, but we’re on the Katy Perry train’, which is really exciting, and I feel like I worked really hard for that.”

Life is about learning and growing from new knowledge gleaned from experiences learned, for sure!

RUSSELL BRAND IN HIGH SCHOOL AND GOING OUT IN WEST HOLLYWOOD WHERE PEOPLE READ THIS BLOG

Tonight was kinda scary. I went out because it is Waitangi Day, a historic day we celebrate in New Zealand and that’s a big day for Kiwis.

While out people were on their phones reading Horiwood.Com. It was surreal.

Here’s a pic from Michael K’s blog in New York. The picture is of Russell Brand in high school. Today Russell is so skinny, his wife Katy Perry (a waif) looks like the fat one of this Hollywood couple.

While out, I had to put up with a barrage of jokes “Michael K is so much funnier than you. Some days, he’s just so clever. Last year Michael was funny, this year he’s not as witty. He’s just crass. Do you know why that is?”

(Of course I don’t know why that is. I’ve never met Michael. How would I know. Are celebrity bloggers ‘psychically’ connected now through the simple act of blogging about celebrities. I never got that memo!) I open my big mouth anyway with a response. (Usually always a mistake!).

I was like “Well too much bong time can make a dull lad. And of course Michael is funnier than I am. He is a SERIOUS blogger. He has advertisers. Like, doh! He’s kinda like Arianna Huffington‘s missing funny bone in New York.”

Look what I discovered today, what Katy Perry cooks hubby Russell Brand on special holiday occasions. The tofurky! Oh – so that’s how Katy Perry finds the time to cook as well as entertain America! Just heat and serve.

It looks like turkey, smells like turkey, at a stretch could mildly taste like turkey but its made of soya bean curds and whey. Very American? Or a bit Little Miss Muffet from the kids fairy tale, bedtime story book – via the kitchen?

I like real turkey to give thanks with. However, must give this a try.

WORK ETHIC AND ENGLISH ACTORS – HOLLYWOOD CAFE TALK – 1.7.10 @ 6.20pm

As I’m blogging a few peeps in the Hollywood cafe today are praising the work ethic of English actors. Our topic of conversation is also about Brits elevating the tone of Hollywood film. (I never said that!). Obviously my new cafe Hollywood industry friends haven’t been watching S.B Cohen or Russell Brand comedic movies, that can just be funny and not high-bro too in film as well.

These two lads are more British pub humor, with brilliance veiled making them so funny to the masses in the U.K in laugh-out-loud ways. They take on the role of court jester, like Shakespearean characters of British pop cultural history, to say The Helen Mirren royal players type of person. Both are just as valid. ‘Comedic royals’ is what Russ and Sacha are. Wit sets them apart from the pack. They cross-over well into Hollywood too.

It’s nice to participate in California residents thinking so well of Brit actors like Christian Bale and that dude in The King’s Speech flick too cleaning up in BAFTA nominations this year (Colin Firth) and their contribution in Hollywood. Good cross-cultural acknowledgement and respect going on today. Good to see and be a part of.

KATY PERRY TALKS TOFU-URKY AND STARTING NEW FAMILY TRADITIONS

On breeding: “Absolutely. I don’t want to miss out on any experience. I want lots of children. It’s all very possible,’ she added.

Katy is sounding very Angelina Jolie after two months of being married.

On Katy and Russell Brand’s first Christmas dinner together: “There will be me and Russ and a pink Christmas tree and a tofu-urky.”

On past, present & new family traditions: “We’ll open one present the night before because that’s the tradition in my family. And we’ll do something new. We’ll start our own new tradition because we are a family now.”

On Russell Brand: “What can I say? He’s brilliant. Every day he amazes me.”

Katy Perry is such a good girl. She’s even wearing an angel-themed shoulder pad for Beyonce and Janet Jackson in this photo too while looking like a Christmas bon bon. Could she be doing any more to entertain in an American way this festive season? No!

She’s got it all covered, right down to the vegan-friendly “tofu-urky.” What next?!
