When a man has a good brain America needs, why turn him into an outcast of television?
Red on Tour: American Express have put their corporate kahnoas on the line to be, ousted NBC talk show host, Conan O’Brien‘s major sponsor for a 30 cities US tour.
With Conan’s cult following (demonstrated by O’Brien’s instant twitter following] amongst 20-40 somethings in the US of A, this guy could run for Vice President in the future. He’s way smart enough to, anyways.
For ticket info and what cities O’Brien will be visting, go here. Props to O’Brien who is contracted not to appear on a rival network to NBC until September 2010. So, to keep his team employed, the red headed brother is going on the road. A smart strategy to go wide, round up, and come back in against his bullying oppressors. Go boy!
Word from O’Brien’s producing team here in Hollywood, is that O’Brien will be filming his tour, archiving footage, ready to splice real American faces he meets on the road, into a new TV show, when he returns to a new network. How cool is that. We’ll get to see real Americans gleaned from across 30 other US states in an LA made TV show. Only American Idol does that, so… that’s too awesomery! O’brien is very democratic, creatively. Props! :)

As at time of writing, TMZ is reporting that the Coroner’s office have told Corey Haim‘s mom, that the actor, died of an enlarged heart. Sad. Gossip bloggers are throwing around the vicodin word, but the toxicology tests will take eight weeks to come through.
Very sad for Haim’s family, as we all wait for Corey’s cause of death results.

Constance McMillan is a lesbian teen from Mississipi, whose school prom was cancelled because she asked to take her girlfriend as her prom partner. America is all over this story at this hot potato minute. Constance high school, Itawamba Agricultural High School in Fulton, Mississippi, has just been slapped with a law suit by the American Civil Liberties Union. Doesn’t the word Agricultural, say it all. Shesh! :)

Adam Smith is a young singer/ songwriter that was once homeless in Nashville, until people in Nashville heard him sing, and formed a team around him to develop Adam’s musical talents. A good story. Very The Blind Side Oscars-hot themed.
Adam has a debut album that he has just recorded this year called Another Way to Get to Heaven which has ten tracks on it. I like track 1 (title track), track 3: A Better Place for Love to Live and also track 10, When I Say Goodbye. Very soulful, with enough time and space embodied in his music to endear with a country twang.
Country superstar, Brad Paisley thinks Smith has got great potentaial, and my suggestion is… that if Adam just dyed his hair red, he could be the Shaun White-esque, crooning cowboy of the country music and folk world.
His soulful country folk approach has relevance as Adam’s generation questions America mid and post recession. His music is slightly melancholic, with lilts of hope inflected across his songs. Smith’s music, somehow makes you stop and listen, in an imploring sound and tone of how a new generation of country stars percieve their world. They’re asking a lot of questions about their world and I like that. Well worthy of a listen.
Here’s Adam’s cover of Madonna‘s song, Take A Bow above. Adam’s new album is released by Desert Dreams records.

Robert Pattinson is such a UK gentleman. Whenever, Robbo has a new film to promote, he always flirts with allusion that he could be a rock star too, and says that he’d love to do an album. This time however, Pattinson skews this Ace card, Jennifer Lopez‘s way, when talking his desires to have a future career in music.
Says Pattinson to the Daily Star and via Digital Spy: “I want to do an album at the end of the year. All my friends are recording albums and I’m very annoyed about it.”
He added: “I can play the guitar and piano, but I can’t do two things at once. I don’t know how people like Jennifer Lopez can act and then also sing. Hopefully I’ll find some time to get it together.”
That’s so sweet of Robert Pattinson, as since having her twins, J-Lo has really struggled to make a big comeback into the world of entertainment. This will help get J-Lo hot with Pattinson’s 100 million die hard Twilight fans worldwide. A good recommend for Lopez.

Since Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt put a bit of distance (like an entire Ocean, and other countries) between Jennifer Aniston riding their coat tails in America, so far this year, Jenn has resorted to fame chomping Scotland’s brightest star, Gerard Butler. by posing as his twin limpet on red carpets abroad.
As you can see by this pic, holding onto Gerard tightly, is Jenn’s way of not slipping through the cracks of obscurity this month, as the lovable onscreen duo, rock their stuff out in London, promoting their new … (surprise, surprise… rom com) Bounty Hunter at their London premiere.

This week’s Entertainment Weekly gives up the top spot for all Oscar winners 2010, to the lovely Sandra Bullock on her much deserved win this year. Why does Sandra’s expression in her eyes just looks like she really wants to be in jeans and a farm shirt, with a milkshake in one hand and a burger and fries in t’other; rather than being America’s new ‘pretty woman’ and holding that beaten-down tinsel-trophy thing in her hand, that everyone would sell their cousin to get in this town. Love her!

The spritely Betty White, 88, will host Saturday Night Live for Mother’s Day, May 8th 2010. Not being one to miss out on an octogenarians hotness, SNL (according to People) are going to somehow cram all of their female comic stars, into Betty’s popular spotlight, to refresh their SNL branding of comic actors at the same time, quicker than a ’Cinnabun reunion’ with Jesse James.
They hope to create the next Sandra Bullock, from their line up of their lesser-loved stars than the divine Betty, who are clamouring to appear alongside White on the Mother’s Day ep. An appearance with Betty is like winning the Female Comic Oscars. Betty is Oscar. The closest living thing to him anyway in show biz. It’s the career performance, that a comedy actress acting with Betty will, refer back to in every interview she ever does for the rest of her days. The lovely Betty White is that big a deal in the news in Hollywood.

I pass this sign on Melrose & Fairfax every day here in West Hollywood. It reminds me, that America’s sweet future is like a cupcake, being baked with thoughtfulness and love, by busy, energetic worker bees. It’s the collective that gather to make the honey, so that life can be made sweeter. But the Queen Bee’s spin it into honey for all. ;)
That’s the story of West Hollywood’s creative legacy, talents and gifted minds that have served the heart of the Hollywood entertainment industry with the best creative ideas, and honey… for decades now.
On that note… What’s cookin’ in your kitchen for your country’s better future? May you never tire, of doing your best, giving your all, creating each day and staying sweet.
Bitterness comes from wallowing in a place of disapointment from a sense of past entitlement lost. But sweetness = strength. It lives in today, not yesterday… and everybody wins in the future.. :)

Mexico has a lot to teach us, here in America. This year Mexico, produced the #1 richest man in the world, Carlos Slim Helu. His fortune is made in telephones and mobile telephony networks mainly. People loved to talk to the ones they love, as life is about sharing the most meaningful moments, with the ones you love, so Helu is making bank, everytime someone yaps on a telephone.
Reports via Forbes magazine’s news feed: “Riding surging prices of his various telecom holdings, including giant mobile outfit America Movil (), Mexican tycoon Carlos Slim Helu has beaten out Americans Bill Gates and Warren Buffett to become the wealthiest person on earth and nab the top spot on the 2010 Forbes list of the World’s Billionaires.
“Slim’s fortune has swelled to an estimated $53.5 billion, up $18.5 billion in 12 months. Shares of America Movil, of which Slim owns a $23 billion stake, were up 35% in a year.”
Bill Gates is only .5 of a billion behind Helu for the #1 spot.

Obama has one. Al Gore has one. Now, the internet… might get one too. Nobel Peace Prize has had a record number of recommends to nominate the internet for a Nobel Peace Prize Award.
The internet’s nomination has been championed by the Italian version of Wired magazine for helping advance “dialogue, debate and consensus”.
The invention of the internet, was initially developed for military information, sharing purposes. Terrorist attacks are also planned via the internet too though… so that’s a tricky one, if you are on the Nobel Peace prize judges panel. A great suggestion though for a Nobel Peace Prize as everyone who has ever used the net, feels like a winner too. :)

Corey Feldman, best friend and frequent costar of the late Corey Haim, has released this statement about his ‘brother’s’ passing:
“I was awakened at 8:30 this morning by my brother and sister knocking on my bedroom door. They informed me of the loss of my brother Corey Haim. My eyes weren’t even open all the way when the tears started streaming down my face. I am so sorry for Corey, his mother Judy, his family, my family, all of our fans, and of course my son who I will have to find a way to explain this to when he gets home from school. This is a tragic loss of a wonderful, beautiful, tormented soul, who will always be my brother, family, and best friend. We must all take this as a lesson in how we treat the people we share this world with while they are still here to make a difference. Please respect our families as we struggle and grieve through this difficult time. I hope the art Corey has left behind will be remembered as the passion of that for which he truly lived.”
Why do the young of Hollywood, die too young?

POETIX: PAPER GANGSTA SUPERMARKET AISLES -3.10.2010
Today my Maori gaze met with a mother’s eyes
stealing discretely to feed her child
in West Hollywood’s ”me, myself, I“
cruisy supermarket aisles
And as Lenord Cohen’s Hallelujah
played softly in the background
I wondered which paper gangsta
had murdered this ’Lil Mama’s
ray of light
in her once strong
American dream.
