Reports the Long Island Press, Sonny Bono and Cher‘s daughter, Chastity Bono is now legally Chaz Bono–a man.
‘A year after undergoing a sex change, Bono is now considered a man by the law. A California judge granted him a gender and name change on Thursday.’
In the Bono family’s show biz roots of America, there has always been the Sonny and Cher Show.
Somehow I can’t help but feeling, that Chastity should have just skipped the Chaz name change part altogether, and gone for the Sonny Bono Jr. title instead … because the rhetoric of the Sonny and Cher Show (him and her on show biz’s red carpet) has just started up all over again.
That’s one heckuva radical way, to become your father. But everyone who knows Chaz, are happy that Chaz’s gender reassignment treatment is a step twards Chaz feeling more comfortable in Chaz’s own skin.

Hairography is what girls do–who want more attention than their talents warrent. Hairography fuels the pop divas marketing game, more so than a good voice.
Kelly Clarkson is one of the best live singers in the pop divas game. She’s got the voice. However, many other pop divas have a bigger ego than she does–without the calibre of voice Clarkson has. Here’s three funny takes on that reality Clarkson finds herself in.
1. Kelly Clarkson does not rely on wigs to get press (yes, Beyonce and Lady Gaga). This is the link to her new track called Wash, Rinse, Repeat–which Clarkson alludes to the fact that girls who wear wigs and extensions can’t do… all that easily. Love it! Pop Eater describes the song as ‘a fiery new tune.’
2. Kelly Clarkson remains the #1 selling American Idol of All Time. Go here.
3. Kelly takes on songwriter Ryan Tedder about giving Beyonce the Halo song, and not her. Just kidding. According to The Prophet Blog, Kelly is giving Tedder a piece of her mind, in these song lyrics.
My thoughts are Kelly just needs to be writing more of her own songs, to facilitate the amazing gift of her voice and the way it is presented to the world.
As my sister, Cherry is a singer and went to see Kelly live in concert in New Zealand recently, go here to read a review about Kelly’s live performance at the Orange County Fair, last time she came anywhere near performing a live concert in LA! :)
And although I jibe about Beyonce and Lady Gaga working their wigs and their weaves to get press, no one seems to utilize hairography better than Britney Spears–who according to Nielsen is the #1 selling female artist of the last decade. Wow! Maybe Kelly should dance a little more in her music videos. It pays off for Brit Brit.

Lady Gaga says these things about her upcoming music video for song, Alejandro to Extra TV‘s Teri Seymour on the set of American Idol. The Italian-American pop star says:
“”I’m shooting this video with Steven Klein. I’m so excited, but like all of my videos, I don’t know what it’s going to look like until it’s finished.
On her hectic life: ”I’m really not that tired. Of course, I get tired… it’s my passion for my fans. It’s their messages, they send me these beautiful videos… I must have thousands of beautifully laminated books with stickers, photos, sketches, poetry, they call me Mother Monster now.”
Gaga says she actually “sucks at playing poker” and that ”One of the inspirations from Poker Face was these parties I used to hold on Sundays at my friend’s house in Brooklyn, and all the boys would get together and play Texas Hold ‘Em and I’d make margaritas and spaghetti for everybody. Believe it or not I’m an excellent cook, so no, I suck at poker,”she said.

Italia and all things Italian in America are white hot right now. My favorite coffee barista of the Italian persuasion is undoubtedly Isabella Bentivoglio of Cafe Marco, West Hollywood.
Isabella is so sweet. I never need sugar in my coffee when Isabella is around. Her coffee is the best and her smile is all the sweetness you need. I love her sweet spirit!
Here’s Isabella introducing The Piadina – the Italian’s favorite flat bread sandwhich. I was the first person Cafe Marco asked to try it. And of course it was delcious! I’m giving it the big hori from New Zealand’s thumbs up!
My first piadina was made with slices of boccocini, layered with prosciutto, baby cherry tomatoes and a hint of basil leaf. The appeal of the Italian flat brad sandwhich is that it is served warm and everything is fresh and chilled on the inside. It’s a winning combo. Buon Appetito indeed! Thanks Cafe Marco. Yum! :)

An artist will always support other artists. Their work is food and creative fuel to inspire true art from new artists. So this post tickled my fancy today.
‘Lady Gaga made a surprise visit to New York’s Museum of Modern Art this afternoon to check out the work of famed performance artist Marina Abramović. The exhibition, titled ‘The Artist Is Present,’ is a tribute to Abramović’s 40-year career, highlighting the artist’s video works, installations and photographs, as well as solo and collaborative performances. Abramović’s most popular piece, ‘The Artist Is Present,’ involves the artist sitting with one person at a time for an intense experience that often leaves museum goers in tears. Gaga did not participate, but all it took was one tweet for word of her presence to spread like wildfire this afternoon, with user “juliaxgulia” tweeting that Gaga had entered the exhibit and that the popstar’s shoes were “unreal.” Naturally. Thankfully eagle-eyed photographer, Joseph Holmes, was on hand to snap pics. Check them out and even more celebs we’ve spied in the hot seat.

According to DListed, America’s 12th most googled celebrity female of 2009, Lindsay Lohan took her financially up against the wall no-no to Alcohol Awareness School yesterday.
Lohan had been at risk of breaching her parole terms. So, it’s good to see her realign. I don’t know why I love this girl. But I do. She’s a metaphor of Young America caught up in a bad romance of recession politics. Congratulations are in order for Eminem who just recieved his Artist of The Decade Award from Nielsen Soundscan who track music sales.
Eminem is the biggest selling artist for the decade with more than 32 million album sales followed by The Beatles (30.2 million), Tim McGraw (24.8 million), Toby Keith (24.5 million) and Britney Spears (22.9 million), according to Nielsen SoundScan.
That’s amazing. Congrats to both Eminem and Ms Britney Spears for being the top in their fields. It’s the artist who moves the most units, that should perhaps also have top media billing.

‘Lady Gaga’s penchant for bizarre behavior continued at Monday’s Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Gaga was the slated performer at Vogue editor Anna Wintour’s annual fete, co-hosted this year by Oprah Winfrey and Gap creative director Patrick Robinson, though she refused to walk the red carpet and remained locked inside her dressing room for most of the evening.
“She literally wouldn’t come out,” says a spy. “Friends tried, [Warner Music exec] Lyor Cohen tried, no dice. Eventually, Vito Schnabel came over and got [artist] Terence Koh on the phone to talk to her, which helped. Koh and Oprah were the ones who finally coaxed her out.” Read the rest of this entry »
