EXTENDED FAMILY LIVING AND THE FRENCH CHATEAU-DWELLING JOLIE-PITTS
After the recession washed over us, like a flood of hot lava most of us ducked and survived (phewsh!), three generations living together under one roof is quite common here in many US communities. In fact many cultures around the world prefer this model of family interaction for children growing up. It’s very Native American Indian for example, this trend. Anyway…
The Jolie-Pitts don’t seem to mind this extended inter-generational model of living either. This year, they prefer it. Reports Splash News Online, “[Brad Pitt‘s folks will be moving in with Brad, Angelina and the six Jolie-Pitt grandkids at the star couple’s French chateau home. Stability for their brood after a year in a plane, is what they’re after this year. Sticking to mostly doing voiceover work, recorded at a studio on the property is the star couple’s goal this year. Brad has begun construction plans for a cottage for his folks, out back of their fifty five million dollar estate in the South of France. Cute.
In April, the Jolie-Pitt family will look just like the Mountbatten-Windsor-Spencers in the UK with three generations of family members all being photographed together. Smart publicity from Hollywood’s no.1 couple.

About a gazillion blog posts ago, here in Hollywood I once shared a news story that “Kissing is medically proven to reduce stress.” This was way before the American people worked out they was a ‘global economic recession’ mirroring ‘the great depression of 1930′s’ in world history on the cards.
It was way before politicians started busking for their supper in America, asking people to be patient because we all needed a ‘stimulus plan’ in order for ‘war budgets to be increased’ and ‘before we were all supposed to be cast in recovery narratives’ that then became reflected in our pop culture.’
That original blog post can be read here, written two years ago, to the day starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie swapping spit at the Oscars Awards ceremony one year back. Where else would you kiss but at the Oscars, right?
Today when I turn on my lap top in the local Hollywood cafe, Starbucks coffee communities web page, is running with a story that gives you free online access to read . I kid you not.
I’m like – if you don’t know how to kiss by now, that’s sad. Maori-Kiwis have kissing sussed out by the age of 13. Maybe 15 if a slow blooming kisser. It’s all about lip shapes and whether they are juicy or not – that will decide the nature of a good kisser. Who said kissing was a science? There was never a text book on it when our ancestors first sailed on down to Aotearoa-New Zealand with a language similar to native Hawaiians, but different. But Kiwis have always been the best kissers.
Why the need to over-discuss in paper form, the science of kissing, I ask today? Isn’t a kiss best given from the heart? Like art?

COGAN’S TRADE, BRAD PITT AND THE WEINSTEINS IN 2012
The Weinsteins have scooped Cogan’s Trade, for distribution. The film will star Brad Pitt, Sam Rockwell and Casey Affleck in a story that sees Pitt playing Jackie Cogan, a “professional enforcer who investigates a heist that takes place during a high stakes poker game held under the protection of the mob ring.”
Shooting begins next month, distribution in 2012.

True fact, when you’re Bad Pitt and Angelina Jolie you are like wildlife–meaning paparazzi stalk you like you are, they forget you’re human. It’s insane and a tad sad to watch. I remember Britney Spears whizzing by in her car here in Hollywood in her pink wig crazier than Vladimir Putin as puppeteer of Young Russia days. Oh wait, that’s Russia now. Anyway, Brit Brit was The Young Hollywood driver back then. Imagine 40 paparazzi in hot pursuit of this pop star in those days. Nuts. I don’t know how she quite managed to stay remotely sane. Oh, that’s right she kinda didn’t.
Anyway, the Jolie-Pitts amuse for a good cause donating $2 million to a wildlife sanctuary. How sweet.
Maybe they could donate to a unicorn sanctuary too, just to keep the celebrity pop star game a bit more in ‘reality’ than it has been of late. Unicorns! Ridiculous. :)

GWYNETH PALTROW TALKS HER STRANGE HIGH PROFILE ROMANCES
Gwyneth Paltrow tells E! in a special that went to air last night (Wednesday) that her very high profile relationships with both Brad Pitt and Ben Affleck when it was their turn to do Young Hollywood tabloid stories, were a bit surreal.
Says Paltrow, “It was strange to be part of a public couple,” she said (via Us Weekly). Paltrow dated Pitt from 1994-1997 where they were briefly engaged. Her dating days with Ben Affleck were from 1997 to 2000.
Gwyneth is happily married to Chris Martin of Coldplay, has two children Apple 6 and Moses 4 and she appears in Country Strong debuting January 7th at the movies.

CREATING MAGICAL CHRISTMAS MEMORIES WITH BRAD PITT AND ANGELINA JOLIE
The globetrotting Jolie-Pitt family will be having a fun Christmas this year. Talking to Ryan Seacrest on his KIISFM radio show today (Friday) Angelina Jolie confesses, “We’re going to travel with the kids and go to a random part of the world. We’re going to travel and have an adventure because that’s what we love to do.”
Jolie says her famous brood’s Christmas prezzies are all in the bag this year. ”I’ve got it all boxed and ready to go. I’m trying to get every stocking right.”
A nice touch from a woman whose giving more to Hollywood this decade over and above the call of duty, than any other Hollywood female face you can think of. Let’s hope Angelina and Brad both have a good Christmas themselves this year. Creating fun family memories is always the best Christmas present of all.

“Angelina was great. She’s patient, and a very hands-on mother, making certain everything fits,” tells an onlooker to People Magazine, at a report that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie took their children shopping. Brad was described as being “an agreeable” doting dad.
The report also says: Hollywood’s star couple “took daughters Zahara and Shiloh holiday shopping in Paris Saturday and it looks like they’ll be able to check quite a few things off their gift list, including pants, pajamas, gloves, sweaters, boots, stuffed animals, knights’ costumes (complete with tunics, swords and shields) and one large green plastic alligator, according to staff at the Bonpoint boutique on rue de Tournon near the Luxembourg Gardens.”

AN ALLEGED SOURCE OF ANGELINA JOLIE SAYS SHE WON’T CELEBRATE THANKSGIVING
Popeater is making big claims today, stating: “Angelina Jolie hates this holiday [Thanksgiving] and wants no part in rewriting history like so many other Americans,” a friend of the actress tells [Popeater's website owner, or so the website claims].
“To celebrate what the white settlers did to the native Indians, the domination of one culture over another, just isn’t her style. She definitely doesn’t want to teach her multi-cultural family how to celebrate a story of murder.”
“Angelina gets so grossed out by Thanksgiving that she has made sure her family will not be in America this year on Thursday,” claims the site.
First up, filming abroad means just that. Filming away from the US as Jolie is doing with her Untitled War Love Story movie. Secondly, Marlon Brando, a fellow oscar winner said it the best at the Oscars one year via a messenger. It’s very Hollywood to discuss maltreatment of Indigenous people for A-List actors who have little to lose in bringing attention to this.
My feelings are if we abuse Inidgenous People on any landscape, this sets a pattern to abuse all other people on the same landscape unless we get that right. Indigenous Peoples struggles (like native American Indians struggles) are a key theme on this blog too. Go here to read Marlon’s words.
Meanwhile in India (the country), Popeater’s equivalent One India, is obsessing over the possibility that there’s an Angelina Jolie Temple in the world famous Angkor Complex of Cambodia. Her PR machine is in overdrive today–even without her doing a thing.
I can’t see Brad Pitt going without a turkey dinner. I mean, this is the guy who got his start in Hollywood dressing as an El Polo Loco chicken, so whatevz. I love the message of Indigenous Peoples concerns though. Poignant at this time of year. Jolie often plays the role of “The Teacher” for America. This year, she brings a history lesson and questions hypocrisy, if these comments are at all to be believed as if she actually said them– and to be taken seriously.
The world’s new star system is anyone whose leading by “thinking green for the environment” and “thinking Indigenous Peoples concerns”–the most trusted (and perhaps emotionally invested) guardians of any nation’s national resources and their people. They live in dialogue with the earth, similar to how the people of James Cameron‘s Avatar do.

BRAD PITT AND ANGELINA JOLIE WORKING TOGETHER FILM MAKING
Brad Pitt has been a good support on set with Angelina Jolie who is making her first film, Untitled War Love Story.
In many ways the couple are reflective of President Bill Clinton and US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton and the way they both work, with Mrs Clinton now wearing the ‘official’ leadership hat of this couple, like Angelina is for the Jolie-Pitts.
Good images of couples working together, and letting girls lead to their full capacity with full support. Strong women, equal strong men and children. I dig how they roll, don’t you? Especially because India is on America’s radar right now, and women traditionally in India, love to support their leading lads. Couples, not splits, are hot.

As celebrities of US culture, I like them all. More often than not, they always bring a smile.
“B” also equals whose got the ball. B is also about what you do for others when you have the ball.
You’re an A-List star in Hollywood when you do A-List worthy things with the ball you hold in your hands for others. Angelina Jolie perhaps sums this up the best, on her humanitarian missions for the UN, to people of the world most needing advocacy. AB is a blood type (like any other, O type for example is too) –the signifier of human life globally–symbolizing the movement of a pulse for the good, across the globe, for people.
Practically speaking though, if you’re from New Zealand and you’re a rugby football enthusiast, AB stands for All Blacks and of them and what they have achieved in sports and what AB’s culture has inspired for human rights records of the World (cf: Nelson Mandela‘s story and human rights, apartheid advocacy via Maori New Zealanders and Kiwis in the documentary films of artist, Merata Mita, one of the most significant filmic artists in the world of all time, who held, focused or directed a camera, in often zero budget filming conditions–yet in a Queenly manner, like Angelina Jolie is now as a debut director, seeing beyond color bars into the heart of genocidal, raping tendencies as a filmic theme)–is only the stuff Hollywood legends are written of and made of. Hence that very long sentence. Sorry ’bout that.
On the other side of the world, in New Zealand, at a significant time in world history as captured on film in Merata’s film, Patu! – AB’s culture helped free a Nobel Peace Prize Winning King, of South Africa. His life story of freedom, is a Kiwi story too. He’s in our hot mix. Maori and Kiwi’s freed him with advocacy also, helping give Nelson his long awaited cup of Liberty in his unique journey of a very long walk to freedom as a now celebrated South Africa icon of the world. When New Zealand play South Africa in rugby, we celebrate our part we play, in his ongoing legacy of freedom. He gave us a challenge, we responded, and that legacy to free others, will always be what we do in rugby country, Middle Earth. It’s a proven gift, a cultural taonga (inner treasure) AB Kiwi-thinkers have, carry, possess, pass on to others when needed for the world.
We instigate the play and the pass of freedom with our actions and instincts, outworked in a teamwork formation. We always have.
AB thinkers and action star-doers, are ‘Humanitarian Messangers of Sport.’ They are down-to-earth and fine Commonwealth people. Their nobility of spirit is defined by a Joe Blogg’s-appearing cloak of humility.
Like any rugby football enthusiast or ‘team work sports’ appreciating Kiwi in the world –The AB’s are our fun heroes. Gladiators of sport, whenever they appear, they symbolize fearless change in a modern world of fiercely contested challenges. New teamwork strategies in play is what they evolve as a science of sport and an art form of globally loved entertainment. They are masters at evolving the game of play and making it better.

A and B are two important keys on a King or Queen’s piano’s keyboard. I am not either. I am the “C” key, of Middle Earth (eyes are needed to C), like any try-and-do-some-good Kiwi does, I try and join in too, in and around supporting our rugby footballers to excel in teamwork opportunities that get the best results on and off the field.
Our rugby players are our AB’s stars. The rest of us Kiwi’s – at best, tend to play the “Middle C” key role of Middle Earth – to entertain for a peaceful and productive future of “big hearted” purposes in the world. Baba Ganoush - with pita bread as a change from Latino-staple Corn Chips and Salsa, in this Jerry Brown latino-voted California’s elect future, of political climate change terrain of Hollywood, that I blog from. Exciting times.
Keeping it real, is having a diverse taste palate. That way, we’re more likely to consider the needs of others, with a worldview different and/or similar to our own. Mature tastes then maturing together with consideration and love for others in our stout rugby and football hearts- Baba Ganoush, why not?! You know it. Peace!

Crossword girl sits opposite me in the cafe, her feet in a cross-legged position on her chair as she scribbles, like it’s yoga class over coffee. It’s good to see someone writing in this day and age. Like, with a pen. I jump on Facebook and see my friend Dale from Wellington, Aotearoa-New Zealand wants to head to New Orleans for the Jazz & Heritage Festival this year. How cultured of her.
Dale must already be over racking up ten out of ten tans in Hawaii. Dale did that twice last year and loved it, but perhaps New Orleans would be more fun. She reads books anyway, so how’s that going to mesh with our spicy crawfish gumbo, serious paella palate research and sarsaparilla vodka martini sessions, with all the beaut music that dance-loving Maoris will instantly want to do, if I go with her? The world’s hottest books list, might feel a bit neglected, this US trip of Dale’s.
Then there’s all those vampire movie sets we’ll have to visit in New Orleans too, like where the Twilight Saga kids (Kristen Stewart, Alex Meraz, Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson) all are filming, or where Oscar winner Anna Paquin‘s True Blood cast film too, or even where Brad Pitt, Kirsten Dunce and Tom Cruise filmed the Anne Rice novel adaptation too, of that film, Interview with a
PoliticianVampire we’ll have to get photographs of at – as well, if we do New Orleans with a Hollywood Maori twist. I don’t know if I can cope without my new Orthodox Jewish friends nearby for too long these days in such political-economic climates of the world; or when you pick up any newspaper. But I think I just might manage.Of course we should as Dale and I always had movie dates in the nation’s capitol of Wellington when we both worked in government in New Zealand on Sundays, so we should keep our tradition going as US movie loving hori film buffs. Already the possibilities of fun in New Orleans are sounding tres exciting, and that’s months away. I know Dale already has friends there, so that could be rivetingly wild as Dale does biz too. She’s a bright spark with a fine sense of Nati humor, I have always been proud of to have as my friend.
Knowing Dale though, while I’m running around vampire set locations, she’ll be more green thinking conscience, like wanting to go and meet the real people of New Orleans who live in the lakes and inlet areas, to talk to them about how they managed to clean up the environment after the gulf oil spill crises with BP. Remember that?
