The whole thing about being a pop star in your twenties is to up the role of the playful rogue by being a little upstart of American pop culture. Ke$ha whose always swilling a bottle of Jack–according to her music, never dissapoints in that regard. Today she adds the word “love” and “drug” to her pop star resume to drive her music sales.
Here’s the new artwork for her new single, You love is my drug, with an accompanying pic of Ke$ha wearing a white tiger mask.
As stated on this blog a few times in the past, Tiger Woods is China’s perfect metaphor for America right now. It is officially the year of the white tiger in China, which is denoted by the element of metal. Why, I don’t know exactly… but my point is Ke$ha is doing “way too much” with this Tiger mask today. She brings on a chuckle.
Of the new music video to accompany her song, because she is competing in a pop market against Lady Gaga whose Telephone music video is one second longer than Michael Jackson‘s legendary music video to the song Bad Ke$ha adds:
“I think it’s safe to say that in the future we’re all going to remember where we were when we first saw this video. Without a doubt it’s going to be an event. I am sooooo stoked!”
Well as creating art for your own enjoyment is half the battle of any artist, let alone a pop artist, I’m glad that Ke$ha is so stoked with herself. American pop music is always must be fun, which is why it is loved universally.

It has to be said that Ke$ha and Justin Bieber were the weirdest Grammys 2010 presenters pairing ever. I mean, I know they were both the two break-out stars of December last year, but to pair the Jack Daniels promotions girl in disguise as a pop star with this kid, was a little bit odd. The Beastie Boys part of Ke$ha’s pop appeal is very apparent in LA. When last out, Latino and black people in da club knew all the lyrics to her debut single, Tik Tok and were totally getting their dance on to her sound…. where other people weren’t yet.
Her cross-over appeal of varied hip hop influences mixed into her purposeful valley girl, ‘white trash’ pop sound is paying off. Her sound is very now.

Ke$ha proves she’s here to stay. The star has now clocked up her 5th top ten billboard charts hit, with We R Who We R, off her new album Cannibal. She debuted on billboard at number 1 with the song.
