Mike Nichols is a great. He was honored last night. Remember a while back when America’s Pretty Woman, Julia Roberts wanted the Obamas and Oprah to stop by for dinner with her friends Tom Hanks and Rita H?
Well, Julia kept her end of the bargain (sorta) representing with Oprah at Mike’s honorary dinner. A year later Jules and Oprah got the chance to make best friend’s Whoopi over dinner. Good ideas, take time to achieve amongst busy people. Loving this pic. Hot. :)

An outstanding effort was played on the sports field by U.S.A in South Africa at Soccer World Cup today. The U.S tied 1-1 with England. That’s a solid effort.

Gosh, I must be too comfortable. My blog posts are getting few and far between this week. Anyways, Soccer World Cup fever is sweeping the world from Nelsen Mandela ‘s home nation of South Africa. Here’s a soccer anthem of the UK by the Three Lions. Apparently Robbie Williams and Katy Perry‘s fiance are remaking this song as a message of encouragement to England in pursuit of soccer football gold. Good luck!

Through the period during the Hollywood Writer’s Strike and the effects of global recession on America, Horiwood, a novel tells the story of American fatherhood and nationhood today, from an immigrant’s perspective in The City of Angels.

Nelson Mandela has sadly lost his great-granddaughter, Zenani Mandela who returning from a concert in Soweto to celebrate the opening of the World Cup in South Africa, died in a car accident.
The Nelson Mandela Foundation said Zenani Mandela, 13, died in an accident involving one car. No one else was injured. Sad.

Every now and again, vocalist Caitlin Smith inspires with her music, gift and spirit.
Caitlin only has 10% vision, but you’d never know it–because her spirit is her instrument of soul. Love her! My youngest niece is named after this woman. This sculpture spoke to me today. It’s called Satan’s Defeat and I don’t know who the artist is. It made me think of the Middle East and the need for peace. If “satan” is hatred in the world, then a defeat of hatred can only occur when Peace rises like a rose above it.
As I thought this sculpture was both scary and noteworthy, it’s a worthy battle scene set in stone to perhaps share with the world from the City of Angels tonight.

Selfless souls make you weep. They’re so pure. Tonight Aunt Elvira said: “You are the apple of my heart and you always have been, because you bring so much joy and happiness from the other side of the world to us.”
