I don’t know why tabloids think that Sean Penn is a catch for Young Hollywood actresses? I know he’s a double Oscar winner, but really, young girls of Hollywood have so many options to choose from these days. They’re more about brokering new stars, (eg – Natalie Portman and Ben Millepied‘s big romance for example) than necessarily being crazy mad for the guys who have already leapt through Oscars winning hoops.
Anyway, the latest ‘romance rumor’ has already been squashed with Scarlett Johansson‘s rep who has issued a statement saying that Scarlett is not linked to Sean Penn romantically:
“Scarlett and Sean are not dating—they have been friends for years,” he insists. “Nothing more, nothing less. They have been talking over the last few months regarding Haiti Relief and Scarlett’s upcoming trip to Haiti as Oxfam’s Global Ambassado,” the statement reads.
Love Haiti? is their message perhaps. Let’s go with that then from this story.

Crossword girl sits opposite me in the cafe, her feet in a cross-legged position on her chair as she scribbles, like it’s yoga class over coffee. It’s good to see someone writing in this day and age. Like, with a pen. I jump on Facebook and see my friend Dale from Wellington, Aotearoa-New Zealand wants to head to New Orleans for the Jazz & Heritage Festival this year. How cultured of her.
Dale must already be over racking up ten out of ten tans in Hawaii. Dale did that twice last year and loved it, but perhaps New Orleans would be more fun. She reads books anyway, so how’s that going to mesh with our spicy crawfish gumbo, serious paella palate research and sarsaparilla vodka martini sessions, with all the beaut music that dance-loving Maoris will instantly want to do, if I go with her? The world’s hottest books list, might feel a bit neglected, this US trip of Dale’s.
Then there’s all those vampire movie sets we’ll have to visit in New Orleans too, like where the Twilight Saga kids (Kristen Stewart, Alex Meraz, Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson) all are filming, or where Oscar winner Anna Paquin‘s True Blood cast film too, or even where Brad Pitt, Kirsten Dunce and Tom Cruise filmed the Anne Rice novel adaptation too, of that film, Interview with a Politician Vampire we’ll have to get photographs of at – as well, if we do New Orleans with a Hollywood Maori twist. I don’t know if I can cope without my new Orthodox Jewish friends nearby for too long these days in such political-economic climates of the world; or when you pick up any newspaper. But I think I just might manage.
Of course we should as Dale and I always had movie dates in the nation’s capitol of Wellington when we both worked in government in New Zealand on Sundays, so we should keep our tradition going as US movie loving hori film buffs. Already the possibilities of fun in New Orleans are sounding tres exciting, and that’s months away. I know Dale already has friends there, so that could be rivetingly wild as Dale does biz too. She’s a bright spark with a fine sense of Nati humor, I have always been proud of to have as my friend.
Knowing Dale though, while I’m running around vampire set locations, she’ll be more green thinking conscience, like wanting to go and meet the real people of New Orleans who live in the lakes and inlet areas, to talk to them about how they managed to clean up the environment after the gulf oil spill crises with BP. Remember that?

1 Fact: 1 billion people do not have clean drinking water. Where: Africa and India are most affected.
The threat: More people are lost in the world through this situation than war.
The solution: We can make a difference through UNICEF Tap Project. If you want to, please do.
True fact 2: For as little as $10, one person can have clean drinking water for a lifetime.
That’s like a beer at a Hollywood club with the tip. Amazing aye! Act. Bump this post on too. Let’s flow. :)

Double Oscar winner Sean Penn came under fire this weekend when Wyclef Jean took a swing at the actor, who has not been supportive of Jean’s bid to be a future President of Haiti. Wyclef had sent a message in song, that Penn is a big “coke sniffer” and not the conservative humanitarian angel for Haiti, the media has painted Sean out to be. What a smear campaign by Jean.
Here’s Sean’s reply, via his rep: “A spokesperson for the actor, Mara Buxbaum, said in a statement: ‘Mr. Jean is clearly unfamiliar with the physical demands put upon volunteers in Haiti. As aid workers there, the notion of depleting the body’s immune system thru the use of illicit drugs is ludicrous.
‘More specifically, J/P Haitian Relief Organization (a.k.a. JPHRO) has a ZERO tolerance policy for any and all illegal drugs.
“As the leader of this organization, Sean Penn has not only set this policy, but adheres to it. That Mr. Jean would make such a false accusation is reckless and saddening, but not surprising.”
This whole feud is so childish between these two lads. I mean really, it is. And Sean rep’s reply about depleting the body’s immune system is ridiculous, as Haiti’s heat will do that. Meanwhile in America on the mainland, people are talking jobs depletion within the U.S economy. That’s more everyone’s focus this week, with 1 in 10 out of a job.

Look at this footage. Wyclef Jean has made his intentions clear that he wants to run for Haiti’s next President. He must not have the support of Sean Penn whose been helping in Haiti, or Jean’s ex-band mate from The Fugees, Pras with that ambition.
Here’s what Wyclef sung out in concert at Hot 97′s Labor Day Concert.
On Sean Penn: “I got a message for Sean Penn. Maybe he aint see me in Haiti ’cause he was too busy sniffin’ cocaine.”
On Pras: “I got a message for Pras as well. Even though you don’t want to support me, I got love for you. Even though you only kicked eight bars in The Fugees.”
What is it about politics, that makes musicians think they can get all Evita Peron on it and multi-task and be residing Presidents of a country too or something. :)
Poor Sean Penn! I think he needs to have a wee chat to footballer Miles McPherson maybe. Wyclef is onto a good music marketing campaign though, Presidential jokes aside.

Hollywood actor and double Oscar winner, Sean Penn was involved in a real life-saving rescue mission in Haiti today, as he helped rescue a mother and daughter from the rubble of a collapsed building in Haiti. It pays to travel. Who knows where the world will need the help of the next American hero? Nice one Sean Penn. Angel of US love today.
