CNN is reporting that Roman Polanski, has been arrested in Switzerland by Swiss police flying in for the Zurich Film Festival where he was to receive an award.
The Chinatown and Rosemary’s Baby director is 76. Polanski is wanted for having sex with a 13 year old girl in 1977.
“There was a valid arrest request and we knew when he was coming,” Swiss ministry of Police spokesman Guido Balmer told The Associated Press. “That’s why he was taken into custody.
