The Hollywood Reporter‘s latest casting updates reveal that Bruce Greenwood has been cast in the ABC drama pilot, The River, from Oren Peli, the writer of Paranormal Activity.
The River is a drama that focuses on a group of friends and family members who embark on a quest for a famed adventurer and TV personality who goes missing in the Amazon, with his crew members. Each member, however, has their own motivations for doing so.
Bruce Greenwood will play Emmet Cole. He joines Lone Star actress Eloise Mumford as Lena and Across the Universe‘s Joe Anderson as Lincoln.
Jason Blum, Steven Schneider and Peli are producing The River. Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank. DreamWorks TV and ABC Studios are financing the project. Jaume Collet-Sera an unknown director is lined up to helm this pilot.
Greenwood starred in J.J. Abrams‘ Star Trek reboot, Barney’s Version and Meek’s Cutoff and Dinner for Schmucks and Mao’s Last Dancer, The World’s Fastest Indian, I, Robot, Rules of Engagement and The Riverman and Thick as Thieves. On the TV side, the veteran actor has recently appeared in John From Cincinnati. He has the features Cristiada and Donavan’s Echo on tap. Bruce Greenwood is repped by Gersh agency.
