An offer to save the Nasdaq from Germany’s ownership has Wall Street popping open the bolli today.
The front cover of the Wall Street Journal offsets stock market news with the tragic news involving UN workers being slaughtered. The story is pitted as a ‘religious war.’ Kinda.
Alan Kurtz of All Voices gives us this story with links – “In a bold stroke of religious one-upmanship, Terry Jones who has confessed to burning a copy of Qur’ an on US soil, has shifted blame from himself to Muslims for the massacre of 12 men at the United Nations Assistance Mission at Mazar-i-Sharif in northern Afghanistan on April 1, 2011. Seven UN workers and five protestors were killed when a demonstration against Jones’s Qur’an burning turned violent.
The UN fatalities included three civilian aid workers from Sweden, Norway and Romania, and four Nepalese security guards. The incident began at Friday prayers, during which mullahs angrily incited worshipers to avenge the Qur’an burning. Thousands of rioters throwing rocks, wielding AK-47s, burning the U.S. flag and chanting “Death to America,” quickly overran and set fire to the UN compound.
Yet instead of issuing a mea culpa and making the talk-show rounds to contritely say “My bad,” Pastor Jones called the attacks a “tragic and criminal action” and demanded retaliation against the perpetrators by the U.S. government and the United Nations. “The time has come to hold Islam accountable,” he declared. “We must hold these countries and people accountable for what they have done as well as for any excuses they may use to promote their terrorist activities.”
Cafe Talk on the Matter – Joe and Michael swerve in to the next door table at the cafe in West Hollywood, we talk about this. Both are in their 70′s getting coffee before going to see a local play. They’re IT savvy grey powered people.
Joe says: “This whole thing is celebrity driven. It’s like people will do anything to get their 15 minutes of fame. They’ll kill UN workers. Whatever, just to get it. There’s vulnerable people in the world, programmed by others to do such things. I totally blame Facebook and movie stars. No, I blame Oprah. She started it on her show. We loved it, when people confessed big moments of meaning in their life to us all. Now there’s all those reality TV shows, Oprah started that. But really, I blame our American movie stars who get these ridiculous salaries and every one thinks Facebook culture offers them an opportunity to be one of them. All of this, “how many people are following me” stuff, is all a load of nonsense.”
Yes, many times it is. I try and look innocent.

Of his many philosophical writings, a concern to C.S.Lewis was “modern society’s loss of an objective Center of value — some Standard, some Authority that doesn’t vary with personal tastes, cultural shifts or the blood-dimmed tide of history. Lewis believes that, minus such a Center, members of society have no Authority in common to which they can appeal in moral debates and decision-making. All conceptions of good and evil become weightless, mere matters of individual preference. Without a Center that can hold society together, things fall apart.”–to read arguments of C.W Lewis written by Ryan Harper from one of the world’s most esteemed scribes go here.

In Islamabad, thousands honor Shabbaz Bhatti, yesterday, as depicted in this photo via The New York Times. Bhatti was the Pakistani murdered for being a Christian. I think of words of scholars (theologians) in this moment who believe that ‘Democracy always follows Christianity’ in world cultures and societies, in the main. Many people would disagree with that thought. Yet, Bhatti’s matyrdom is an indication of a man who did not have freedom of speech or freedom of expression.
Below – a pic of a shooting jet, flying across California skies in memory of Shabbaz Bhatti, perhaps, and all of the people lost too in earthquakes, Middle East revolutions in the world at this time. The photograph was taken in Hollywood, five minutes ago. There is a face depicted in the clouds. Luis, a friend whose also an artist and painter tells me, he thinks the face is of a man wearing a suit and looking down. My computer is too crap, to get a big enough clearer picture, of whose face it is. It could be a young faced Abe Lincoln, or it could be someone else. Peace!

Reports Mickey K today out of Africa, New York: “Cathy Cruz Marrero, who just started a job at the mall, tells The Reading Eagle (via DM) that she was texting a message to a church friend when suddenly she found herself with a face full of water and fountain pennies. Cathy shook off her embarrassment and shuffled off without knowing that the security footage would soon be seen by over a million laughing hos. Cathy is not amused.
“My issue is I don’t think security was professional because they didn’t send anyone to check on me until 20 minutes later and I had already left. Instead of laughing, they should have said, ‘Is she OK?’ and been down there right away to check on me.”"
Oh Cathy. Outside of Church circles, it can be a very cold, cold world. Grow up honey! People are like that. Even when being paid not to be haters –like security guards and New York bloggers too. The good news is – God still loves Cathy – either wet or blow-dry dry. Doesn’t Cathy look like Eva Longoria with a Sandra Bullock chin though? Quite amazing really.
If you slipped over in the shower this morning like I did and you need to laugh at someone more of a klutz than you (like I have a need to today for healing therapeutic purps), then watch Cathy Cruz Marrero fall into the fountain too, while ‘fellowshipping/ gossiping’ on her phone at the mall – after these ten links being viewed from Hollywood today. Cathy’s moment is a total gift. I don’t see how Christians can get all litigious and lose their sense of humor. I mean, it’s not like Jesus sued all the pricks that nailed him to the cross, so what’s Cathy’s problem? Jesus chose to Mandela-it instead, take the higher road, and just opt to rise again. Didn’t Cathy learn that once when she sat in a pew? No. And when you yourself trip up – why then try and trip mall management up in the legal system, for your own fall? I’m not following Cathy’s logic here. If you’re a Christian klutz, you’re a Christian klutz. Stop making excuses. If you’re a walking comedian with an iPhone, why can’t a security guard laugh at you. Gosh Cathy liten up with a heart of for… forgive… what’s the word? Oh yeah forgiveness–that’s it–the whole point of the Christian message, really. Cos Lord knows we all need it, from a higher power for being such pompous-entitled-*ssed and short sighted people each hour of any given day. Is Cathy just sounding a little bit alter cocker to you? She is to me. Anyway, on with what’s hot and what’s not.

1 Fact: 1 billion people do not have clean drinking water. Where: Africa and India are most affected.
The threat: More people are lost in the world through this situation than war.
The solution: We can make a difference through UNICEF Tap Project. If you want to, please do.
True fact 2: For as little as $10, one person can have clean drinking water for a lifetime.
That’s like a beer at a Hollywood club with the tip. Amazing aye! Act. Bump this post on too. Let’s flow. :)

Here as I blog in West Hollywood this Christmas I am thankful that we have freedom of expression and freedom of speech in America.
Finally, I have recovered from a dirty martini hang over from two nights ago at a Hollywood Hills Christmas party. I like olives, so always get it wrong when I see them in a festive glass. I only had two martinis, but they were good ones! The relief of not having a Bellevedere voddie headache today is awesome, yet the respite is short lived when today I look at the news and I see that people are being persecuted in Iran for being different.
People are not allowed to have a Christmas this year. Those who want to are detained, some are behind bars, some will be martyred for their Christian faith in 2010!!! That’s insanity. Read the rest of this entry »

(L) of Auckland – The Supercity poses with Lani.
The Samoan-Kiwi hottie looks like her late grandmother, Aunty Maina Werne-Jones - a lady who died in Kenya while on safari, and who had the distinction of having the second most-attended funeral in New Zealand history in 1997 of a Kiwi not born in the green paradise nation. As a woman of Samoa with Mana in The South Pacific, Maina Werne-Jones was down to earth, heavenly-minded, loving and much loved.
Aunty Maina as she was affectionately known, is still sorely missed by Auckland City, Samoa and throughout The Pacific today. Her laugh was magic. She laughed a lot, always sharing her smile and joie de vie with a rare gift of joyful encouragement.
Kalani also looks like her gorgeous momma, Judi Jones. Kalani’s dad, Derek Jones can be found here with Judi, doing their bit providing Samoan-Kiwi flava and inspiration at a transitional time for Porirua City leadership in Wellywood – Hollywood’s sister-city for 3D film making expertise.
Porirua is currently in the middle of a surprise bi-election, as the US Secretary of State Hilary Rodham Clinton has just recently touched down in Wellywood, a film making nation’s capitol city, at the time of writing from Hollywood. There’s a lot going on in New Zealand right now. It’s a hot diverse entertainment nation, destination.
At the top, of the North Island of New Zealand, Kalani lives in Auckland, The Supercity of this beautiful paradise-green nation.
To see Auckland – the City of Kalani Jones and the largest Polynesian and Maori Gateway city in the World (Aloha O’ahu Hawaii of America), GO HERE.
: The analysis, “You’re ambitious, fashion-forward and a true (if sometimes tumultuous) romantic. You’d opt to work on your business plans over your party plans, even if friends say that’s boring. But hey, you always look good doing it–just like Kim!”
.
If you live in Hollywood and follow Herman-Town’s Young Hollywood promotions expertise, you will know that Ms Kim Kardashian is styling and dressing America’s style conscious twenty-somethings, right now, here in the USA. Nationwide in the USA, Kim is currently doing this online 24 hours a day, with a skillful style package that consults and customizes fashion accessories to each individual customer. Smart.
.
Kim Kardashian is perhaps the only A-Listed
reality TV Star in Hollywood, who is also a fashion merchandising mogul on the rise. If Kalani is like Kim Kardashian, I’m all for that. The world needs a Samoan-Kiwi
style-queen I reckon. Especially one of Spirit — like Kalani Jones possesses, naturally. Check out Kim’s online biz ventures with Hollywood entertainment power-lawyer
Robert Shapiro –at
Shoe Dazzle. Amazin! They’re taking over stylish retail for the young in America–via their online storefront window instead. It’s a Kardashian underground movement of taste and style blitzing the USA.
.
Kalani Jones is rugby royalty of New Zealand, Samoa and the Commonwealth Affiliated Nations and Oceania Nations of the World. She is the niece of a rugby player who England’s
Will Carling listed in the UK Telegraph as being the no.2 rugby footballer
in the world of all time. Kalani’s father Derek, is also a good rugby footballer too.
.
As a future rising star of New Zealand & The South Pacific – Kalani Jones has got it all going on in her star mix and this kid loves God too. Not a bad combo for grounded balance to balance out the craziness of fame that lies ahead of her, I reckon. Go kid! If ever there was a girl in New Zealand worthy of a reality TV series of her own, to weave in a stellar cast of characters who surround her in everyday life, Kalani Jones is one such star of great potential to lead, entertain, inspire her generation. Oh… btw:

It’s about an art dealer who discovered that the best works of American Art walk among us. Love them! Here’s their info from their agent, Andy Roth‘s website. .
DENVER MOORE
Denver was born in rural Louisiana in January 1937, and after several tragic events went to live on a plantation in Red River Parish with his Uncle James and Aunt Ethel, who were share croppers.
Sometime around 1960, he hopped a freight train and began a life as a homeless drifter until 1966 when a judge awarded him a 10 year contract for hard labor at the Louisiana State School of Fools, aka, Angola Prison!
According to Denver, he went in a man and left a man and received a standing ovation from prisoners in the yard as he walked out of there in 1976. For the next 22 years he was homeless on the streets of Fort Worth, Texas. However, there were a few times after a brush with the law, he’d ride the rails visiting cities and hobo jungles across America, sampling regional cuisine like Vienna sausage with fellow passengers.
In 1998, “He never met Miss Debbie,” Miss Debbie met him and his life was changed forever.
Today, he is an artist, public speaker, and volunteer for homeless causes. In 2006, as evidence of the complete turn around of his life, the citizens of Fort Worth honored him as “Philanthropist of the Year” for his work with homeless people at the Union Gospel Mission.
RON HALL
While my daddy was fightin´ the big war in the Pacific, my grandmother delivered me in the farmhouse kitchen near Blooming Grove, Texas, in September 1945.
