TROY DAVIS MIDNIGHT HOUR – TEN BLOG POSTS WE’RE READING ONLINE – 21.9.11

Having a blog, it’s always fascinating to see what we’re all reading. Here’s ten blog posts you are. Enjoy our selections today. First up though, in the USA the story about  Troy Davis has all of America up in arms today. HuffPo’s link says: “Highly Controversial Execution Temporarily Delayed As Georgia Officials Await Decision From U.S. Supreme Court.” Update – Sadly, Davis -who maintained his innocence until the end (he did not have a gun), received no intervention on his case. The AP have his story, .

Biz thought for today: New Zealand farmer’s milk is being used to further BigPharma sales distribution networks. Although that is semi funny, in a cheesy, punny Kiwi, rural bretheren, agricultural kind of way, the message is… that we must F as Ph these days.

SIX THINGS AND POLYNESIAN SUPER HEROES CHILDRENS BOOK IDEAS – HOLLYWOOD – 3.30.11

I was thinking about writing a story, a children’s book about every Libyan kid that’s ever had a dream, felt excluded without twitter access, who wanted to belong on an iPhone, or go to a Starbucks, and hoped that one day they could do what they loved and make a difference and share their Subway sandwich combos choices on Facebook.”–but you know… NATO can write that one. :)

Instead I think that maybe the world needs to see a Polynesian super heroes children’s book series as a refreshing alternative. I mean no one on the planet has done a book series like this one, ever. It’s called a new idea. I think Libya’s kids would love it as well. The first book would see the young superheroes go to Libya, then Japan, China, then New York, then Africa, then Australia in subsequent books of the series.

It would be amazing what adventures they would get up to on their travels as super friends. Maybe I should just give the idea to a thirteen year-old artist instead –that would be even more amazing!

Here’s six things you’re loving right now in Hollywood and sharing via social media.

1. Reblle fleur ink by Rihanna

2. Ms. Palicki gets a big tick from me in her new job

3. Super Kōhatu Maori humor

4. Australia is wired tightly to IT like few other nations are

5. Facebook producing – The Winklevoss twins are lol!

6. Family humor – Tattoos, Amber Portwood & baby Leah

CHOPPERS ABOVE WEST HOLLYWOOD SKIES, A BOMB HOT AIR BALLON ADVERTISEMENT SAYS “GOOD YEAR” – 3.29.11

Because eagles who can wrangle are US on American roads here’s three views of Hollywood skies today. The military are present with choppers flying over head. Busy.

And Good Year hires a hot air balloon in the shape of a bomb (why?!), above Hollywood with a message that it’s time to re-tyre one’s car.

I don’t know about you, but seeing a bomb above California as a marketing tool for economic development of a worldwide corporation based on rubber and steel products, is just a tad bit creepy. Jk.Good Year’s effort to be present and send their company message is creative though. Points for that! Everyone’s looking.

Here’s three views at sunset in West Hollywood. Hollywood is a city where every level of one’s senses is invaded. Look at these pics of the skyline in this Hollywood minute – there’s a lot happening above.

Five things we’re sharing in the hood on social media right now are:

1. Industry Town news – 1.6.11

2. Phoenix Phenom is a music artist – buffeting storms of her young progress

3. Kris Fa’afoiLady Gardiner are good people serving well

4. Humor – red neck wedding photos keep the USA amused

5. Pippa Middleton is on a diet for two more days

Alright car owners in California – help Good Year out! Rubber retreading is upon us. Peace!

In keeping with Good Year’s sense of humor, here are the names of their stars they offer California in this rather quirky snap shot moment. Products are -

RIMA IS THE MAORI WORD FOR THE No. 5 – HOLLYWOOD – 3.28.11 @ 5.45pm

[J]ust as doctors and lawyers, teachers and military officers, judges and the police are expected to set aside their own politics in the performance of their duties, so are our employees.

This does not mean — as one writer recently scoffed — that we “poll people at both extremes of any issue, then paint a line down the middle and point to it as reality.”–Media Bistro website are a big fan of New York’s South African editor, Bill Keller‘s rather punchy writing of late. Go here for their pithy Keller story.

Seriously though, The New York Times was so anorexic-like thin on Saturday, the paper obviously needs a hand. Buy it. Support this man.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is a bit of a boxer. Here’s this whipper snapper’s show reel compiled by a fan, doing the art of Rocky in a Ring. Anyways, click on pic to then link to UMG’s YouTube account to watch this man’s image box up a storm. Alright. Enough said about commodities who should own themselves and their representations in a modern enlightened FREE age of intelligence and decency of the humanities.

Elliott writes “In a densely urbanized, highly stratified society situated in the heart of an earthquake zone, the fear that the worst could easily happen lies at the back of many minds.” “The exhibition is called Bye Bye Kitty!!! Between Heaven and Hell in Contemporary Japanese Art,” a piquant exhibition of dark-minded work at Japan Society and a kickoff event for Asia Week, was conceived as a sharp counterweight to the cult of cuteness — kawaii — that has been Japan’s dominant aesthetic for decades.

This bridge pic of the Armagh Street Bridge is one of the most prettiest bridge views in the world, down in Christchurch, The Garden City, courtesy of the NZ Herald. The way the willows weep down towards the water, like old Japanese people bowed in prayer for the life of the young in their care. This was the bridge close to home, that I would stand and pray on after works some nights. Rarely… it was far much more fun to feed the ducks and swans on it, actually! Prayer is always work as you wrestle from spirit gut terrains. There’s someone missing in this picture, like a butterfly. Rouge and black silhouette.

“Poor is the pupil who does not surpass his master. ”–Leonardo da VinciForbes Magazine featured website quote, today.

To steal without crediting other artists/ journalists/ photographer’s/ people enough… is never mastery. It’s a modern slavery narrative hidden beneath a salon daily, blow-dried comb over. It’s also not good American business practice. Like, this women doesn’t work in the steel industry.

The Newspaper Guild, which represents 26,000 U.S. media-industry workers (34,000 if you include Canada and Puerto Rico) is endorsing a call by Visual Arts Source magazine (staff size: 50) to stop providing free content to Huffpo now that it acquisition of AOL has made a fortune for its founders.

“Working for free does not benefit workers and undermines quality journalism,” the Guild said in a statement. “Just as we would ask writers to stand fast and not cross a physical picket line, we ask that they honor this electronic picket line.”

SCOTT DISICK GETS REAL, ADDRESSES SELF CENTEREDNESS PRICK FACTOR – AND 5 HOLLYWOOD THINGS – 3.13.11 3.30pm

It is the art of the American reality star to be as honest as one possibly can while turning out a show in the USA, offering commentary on culture.

After all, this is the job of the reality TV star, in the age of ‘reality television’ and the lucrative deals that follow (not for the show) but with endorsements. It’s millionaire-making terrain.

The Kardashian-Jenner family rule this entertainment platform in the USA (there’s so many of them, they’re able to cover trends, sort of like subtle moss in a jiffy!).

Scott Disick has the job of justifying the firms already shot TV series that have all already been filmed, in light of current global crises occurring all around us in the world. He’s a good lad. Thank goodness for tabloids, as what’s missing in the show content’s relevance, this family can make up for, in new tabloid stories.

Here’s what Scott has to say today, ”You know, I just realized there’s bigger things in the world than just being a selfish, self-centered, prick,” Disick, 27, told PEOPLE recently at the Famous Stars and Strikes Event benefiting A Place Called Home at Pinz Bowling Alley in Studio City, Calif. Scott’s comments were also made in relation to his recent stance to ‘give up the booze.’ It’s like dude, moderation man! His comments are good today.

We all have self-centeredness to work on and re-prioritize in light of a world we actually increasingly share more in being a part of, so I welcome Scott’s comments today. Trending sentiments for the USA even. Today Disick looks like a reality TV show guru. :)

Here’s 5 things we’re voting and sharing as social media in Hollywood right now.

5. Petra Nemcova inspires with real life experiences – Love her!
