A deer crashes into a restaurant and is caught on tape.
When I first moved to California, I lived in Glendale. It is a pretty city, about 30 minutes away from Hollywood in traffic via the 134 East Freeway.
You know? the Freeway where Nicole Richie, drove the wrong way when she wasn’t invited to Les Deux nightclub when Paris Hilton was being mean, and went clubbing with Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan and Nicole wasn’t invited?
We all thought “Oh dear” when Nicole acted out. Richie made headlines for a week at the time. Nicole Richie and husband, Joel Madden, now live in Glendale too and Richie is so much more stable staying out of Young Hollywood’s night spots.
Growing into one’s celebrity skin in Hollywood can be awkward, as Richie once showed. It takes all kinds to give all of the animated and colorful shades of true life Hollywood stories. The city is surreal, it takes time to adjust in it. I love living here. You’re often caught saying “Oh deer” as you see the freakiest things around you!
What I like about Glendale, is that in fall and winter, the deer come down from the hills and they graze on the resident’s gardens.
It’s annoying if you’re garden proud as those deer can wipe out every single plant you just bought from The Home Depot and just planted in your front yard when they get hungry.
With rose colored romanticism for Los Angeles as a once newbie to El Lay, I used to think the deer were so majestic and cute. It didn’t seem too far of a stretch of the imagination that a Hollywood legend like Walt Disney could create animated characters like animal-friendly Snow White princesses or a feature animated film like Bambi either, when he tired of people. He was just sketching the wildlife that he saw in fall, outside of his front window at home.
Someone, never told Walt, that as well as eating your garden in Glendale, that deer can actually check themselves into restaurants like this dear did on Cony Island. But I think he would have known that, he made his deer and wildlife talk in stunning California.
Chevk out the clip of this deer above! And isn’t it fantastic that Nicole Richie is an ambassador for humanitarian causes now, and a mom of Harlowe Madden and Sparrow Madden. Living in Glendale, California, with deer all around him, maybe Sparrow Madden is a little Walt Disney storyteller in the making.
