The latest Jamie Foxx film, Law Abiding Citizen, features Scottish actor Gerard Butler. Oscar winner Foxx shares some of his Oscar reputation with the Scottish newbie guy in Hollywood.
It’s nice to see Gerard not have to do a romantic comedy. Versatility is always the way ahead in forging a decent Hollywood career.
Lately Butler is one of the hot favs of Hollywood studios to drive central ‘twosie’ actor-driven narratives. He’s worked with Foxx, Katherine Heigl (The Ugly Truth), Jennifer Aniston (Bounty Hunter) and he just keeps on bringing it!
Scotland, you can be proud of both Gerard Butler and Susan Boyle this year. Nice contributions to world entertainment. You go!
Again, as in the case of the film’s marketing of Law Abiding Citizen, the Maori colors of New Zealand’s Tino Rangatiratanga Flag (red, black and white) are all the rage in Hollywood! Chaa! The flag stands for self determination and sustainability. Nice.
Barack Obama wore these colors along with Michelle Obama, Sasha Obama and Malia Obama when Obama won his historic election day as the 44th President of the US. They are the presidential colors of the new America. When times get tough, like when Obama has to rally on the healthcare issue, he wheels out these colors again to wear when he makes an important speech. The colors symbolize the political mood which the world finds herself in.
Black represents darkness, the global times of an economic recession around the world, yet in darkness comes creativity of new things.
Red, the most powerful and memorable color known to the mind, in marketing and branding, symbolizes the color of blood, where all living and breathing people need blood to thrive and survive.
White, simplicity. Getting back to basics.
Madonna was the last celebrity to promote these colors.
Now back to Law Abiding Citizen with Foxx and Butler. The plot line, goes like this:
Law Abiding Citizen is a thriller about a brilliant sociopath who orchestrates a series of high-profile murders that grip the city of Philadelphia – all from inside his jail cell – and the prosecutor assigned to his case who realizes he is the only one who can end the reign of terror. Written by Overture Films
The plot focuses on a man who, ten years after his wife and daughter are brutally murdered, returns to extract justice from the assistant district attorney who prosecuted the case against their killers. His vengeance threatens not only the man who allowed mercy to supersede justice, but also the system and the city that made it so. Written byThe Film Department
