If you have such a better idea of what Leah should be then how about trying out for the role. Not many young women have that courage to do that. A major motion film and the fear of being rejected. I like her as well so dont get me wrong, but everyone has to have a start somewhere and I think this will be Julias big debut, I know shes acted in other things but nothing as big as the twilight movies and I think she will be a better leah.

First of all, the first question you need to ask yourself, is would Q’orianka have been able to pull off the role as an actress, despite what she looks like, probably not. Her only big role on her resume is from “New World”, in which she was not able to portray our beloved Pocahontas well at all. Yes, she is a pretty girl, but the role of Leah is very deep, and I don’t think Q’orianka has proven herself as an actress of mature depth yet. That’s probably the reason the casting directors chose Julia, who has a resume of quite a few indie films, in which an actress is able to hone in on her acting ability often more times, than in big blockbuster films. I don’t see what all the hub-bub is about Q’orianka, she is not a very good actress. Yes, she is a sweet person, and does a lot in the Human Activist arena, but she can’t act, not as far as we’ve been able to see yet.

HORIWOOD: thank you for your views on Q’orianka Kilcher. I saw her in The New World. She was amazing. At 14 years of age, to play a Native American folklore queen so convincing made me stand up and say, WHO IS THIS ACTRESS? I had no idea she was 14, which I learnt later that she was when she played this role. Yes, I do think Q’orianka Kilcher would have made a perfect Leah Clearwater. Her show rheel, though as you say is only ‘one main film’ casts her in the lead female role, which is akin to playing the lead like Leah Stewart vs Ashley Green’s minor role in Twilight, so I am certain that Q’orianker Kilcher would have had the talent and chops to serve the Leah Clearwater part for Twilight’s New Moon film with the depth and intensity that the role needed. However, being based in Hollywood, we know that talented actors and actresses are governed by the powers that be. Casting agents, a film director and film producers.

The role went to Julia Jones III and we all have to accept that whether we like that or not. Julia won the role fair and square. We wish Julia the best, but it doesn’t diminish from the fact, that Q’orianker Kilcher fans will still be imagining Q’orianker in the role as Leah Clearwater, and what she would have brought to the package.
