Megan Fox is the queen of the box office, along with a bunch of animated robots, and her human cast mates.
“Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” debuted at $60.6 million in the US in its first day! It’s a new record for a Wednesday debut, say distributor Paramount.
Transformers 2 beats out the previous Wednesday record of $44.2 million for “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” in 2007.
”The Dark Knight,” is the only other movie to beat Transformers 2 in a single day. The Dark Knight too in $67.2 million but it opened on a Friday.
Transformers 2 took in $16 million from midnight screenings alone.
Paramount projected the movie would follow with $25 million on Thursday and climb to at least $150 million by the end of the weekend. In just five days, that would put it to nearly half the $319 million total the first “Transformers” film did during its entire run in 2007.
The sequel reunites Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Tyrese Gibson, John Turturro and other co-stars as the humans again team up with the shape-shifting Autobots against their evil robot enemies, the Decepticons.
Congrats Megan Fox and Transformers 2 Team! Box Office hotness.
