TaylorKitsch

Box office wars have just heated up in Hollywood for films that star hunky leading men. Disney knows that now that Zac Efron has left Disney to star in other studios films and with Robert Pattinson being a strong box office contender in Twilight for summit entertainment, that it needs a big new Hollywood hunk to carry Disney into the future.

Disney announced,  that Taylor Kitsch, is their choice for leading lad in their next film project, John Carter of Mars. The film script is adapted from the Edgar Rice Burroughs book series (hello Twilight’s Stephenie Meyers formula for Summit Entertainment!). Andrew Stanton is directing for Disney.
There’s a lot riding on Taylor Kitsch for this project. Disney pitches Kitcsh as a Johnny Depp actor capable of being a box office superstar. Stanton hopes the big-budget production will launch a movie franchise as big as”Pirates of the Caribbean.”

“Carter” has a movie  premise that is based around a civil war veteran who finds himself mysteriously transported to Mars. In the process his involvement with warring races of the dying planet force him to rediscover his humanity.

Like both Zac Efron and Robert Pattinson being selected for the High School Musical and Twilight film franchises as their main leading man, Taylor Kitsch is one lucky lad here in Hollywood.

Disney has spent months meeting and testing some of Hollywood’s emerging big name actors, ranging from Jon Hamm to Josh Duhamel in their casting quest.

It was Taylor Kitsch’s star turn on “Friday Night Lights” that gave producers faith in the Canadian born actor. When Kitsch booked a recurring role in True blood and also landed the role of Gambit in Wolverine, his Disney star was sealed for the future.

What do you think of Taylor Kitsch? He’s a cross between Zac Efron and Robert Pattinson, but with the other Taylor’s (Lautner of New Moon) body bulk. Will Taylor Kitsch carry Disney into the future like Robert Pattinson has done for the Twilight film series so successfully? [image]
