The loss of Lucy Vodden (Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds) during my lifetime is extremely sad. A child’s drawing shown to his dad immortalized her for ever. I am terribly sad to learn that I have out-lived her.
Thanks for the pic of Lucy and Julian.
HORIWOOD: Julian Lennon is an amazing guy. Very talented and aware of his father’s legacy and how being rock royalty can be used to benefit others lesser fortunate (or the future of sustainability of the planet).
I met Jules about 2 years ago, when he flew into LAX to record an album with an Irish actress friend of mine coming along to film a TV pilot about coming to Hollywood. Lennon was a true gentleman, great handshake, looks you in the eye when he greets you, and then with tenderness, he charged me with looking after his Irish friend while she remained in LA after he’d flown back home.
I can’t help thinking that as a child, this lad, Julian Lennon had respected his friend, Lucy Vodden, in the same manner. WIth care, a watchful eye, concern and a genuine sense of fun.
Thanks too for sharing your comments. Children’s Art can inspire the world. As Lucy’s life story shows us.
