The music world had a laugh and a giggle when the board feed of Beyonce’s Today Show performance got ‘leaked on line.’ It was a case of Prank or Punked from the Beyonce Camp. Beyonce’s a comedian, I say she pranked us!
The feed was a hacked and distorted version of the singers vocals. Howard Stern ran it, with commentary on his show. Click play below:
Matthew Knowles released this, rather pious press statement about his daughters singing prowess in US Magazine, Michelle Obama’s favorite Celebrity News mag:
“If no one took the time to look at the biggest Inauguration in the history of America then shame on them. If no one took the time to listen to Beyonce sing ‘America the Beautiful’ and ‘At Last’ at the Neighborhood Ball for the first dance of President Obama and the First Lady, and they question Beyonce’s vocal ability, they’ve gotta be an idiot. At 12 years into her career, the last thing someone should be questioning is her vocal ability. That would be like questioning if Kobe Bryant could shoot a jump shot. The vocals were obviously altered.”
Chill Daddy Knowles, chill! Needless to say, Daddy Knowles is such a Kobe Bryant fan, it’s cute!
My thoughts are, that Beyonce is the #1 performance Diva of the Diva Game at the minute because she’s a triple threat. However, all of this talent aside, on Horiwood.Com, like any other entertainment news site, Beyonce still is cutting through the big headliners to make the top 10 headlines each day.
It’s hard for Beyonce to beat out the Twilight and New Moon kids news, with Alex Meraz, Kristen Stewart, and Robert Pattinson blasting their way to the top of all headlines each day. Furthermore, she also has Zac Efron and Miley Cyrus, the Mouse House Prince and Princess to contend with, who always beat out Beyonce every day for headline rankings.
Then there’s newcomers like Lady Gaga and Susan Boyle, who also beat Beyonce as a headliner. Rihanna can whop Beyonce too for news interest, and Ciara and Keri Hilson are two up and comers who the world really wants to know about before The Queen Bee takes the stage.
The there’s Kanye West’s Amber Rose combo, which has captured the diva audience of music and hip hop for Kanye, taking more of this audience share off Beyonce because Jay-Z often does roll as a duo with Bee, so Kanye and Amber have got media attention for that. When Beyonce released her little sis into the mix, Kanye found a way to beat the Knowles’ talent and capture a share of tabloid news with Amber Rose, leaving Beyonce still struggling for press coverage.
So in this struggling economy of sensationalism in entertainment news, the ever talented and yet perhaps slightly overexposed Ms Knowles, with all of her help from President Barack Obama and the die hard fan in First Lady Michelle Obama of Beyonce, still not helping her cut the mustard.
Beyonce has become a Presidential pin up girl, stuck in the Obama Cheer-leading camp on her I AM TOUR. Good for her, because the Obamas rock, but its certainly does not make for Top Pop Senstaionalist headlines.
So, my theory is that Ms Beyonce, got her sound engineers to release the distorted buzz track herself, in the debate now of ‘Can Beyonce Really Sing?’ She’s created the crises, and now stands back and looks like the heroine with the music pundits battle out her credibility as a singer now. Here’s how that looks. That Sasha Fierce is pretty ambitious albeit, very smart.
The subtext of it all is funny too. At least she can and does sing live, unlike our favorite Blonde American Pop Princess Ms Britney Spears, who doesn’t even bother. So Beyonce’s winning bigtime all round, in this latest round of her press. Go Girl!
She was #8 in the Celebrity Top 100 for earnings of $80million last year and her press ranking. I guess, she doesn’t want to slip down the ladder this year. Work it Suga momma! I can just imagine Beyonce’s band trying not to wet their pants laughing as she did her best cry wolf, delusional American Idol auditionee impersonation of herself.
That girls gotta good sense of humor! At least she didn’t talk about her pussy showing on stage, or tried to adopt a baby from Malawi to get her headlines like um, our scheming Madonna. She’s made it all about ‘her voice’ which has gotten much better in time!
And also she’s got her film Obsession to pimp out as well as her I AM TOUR that she’s on. Nice work Beyonce being top of mind, on everyone’s lips. At least you didn’t tell Miley Cyrus to get a gum transplant like Jamie Foxx did to promote himself at the movies for The Soloist! True humor is a joke at your own expense, so it’s great to see Beyonce being able to make fun at herself!
