Clean and green, New Zealand, the scenic home of Lord of The Rings, led the way for World Earth Day’s Earth Hour. Many cities all across the globe, turned their City lights out for an hour, in an effort to encourage energy conservation. New Zealand was the first big country to turn their lights out in key cities. Props!
Other nations whose major cities did the same were: Egypt, Greece, the London Eye, the Las Vegas strip, USA and Beijing, China. In total 4,000 cities and towns in 88 countries. Celebrities bringing awareness to the event were: Kate Blanchett and Bishop Desmond Tutu.
World Earth day is about celebrating the hope of the earth’s future and not dwelling on despair. It also aims to encourage cost savings to people’s power bills as well as focussing on sustainability. Smart people live their lives differently. I like that.
Brills! Everyone wins. The future of the world is in our hands.
