PRESIDENT OBAMA, GEORGE W BUSH TAX CUT EXTENSIONS, AND NOT SO GOLDEN TOO TIGHT STRINGS

Honestly. I feel so sorry for President Obama. I mean, how can you lead effectively and efficiently when you’re so hamstrung by The Washington set up right now?

Anyway, The Washington Post is reporting today: “Although his liberal supporters are furious about the decision, President Obama‘s willingness to extend all of the George W. Bush-era tax cuts is part of what White House officials say is a deliberate strategy: to demonstrate his ability to compromise with Republicans and portray the president as the last reasonable man in a sharply partisan Washington.”

Critics say Obama’s stance is strategic, in an effort to win back the Independent political voters after a heavy midterm elections defeat. Pundits say this now puts Obama at potential odds with his core of Democrat liberal voters, who all feel that Obama’s penchant to compromise, cost him in the midterms.

OSCARS GAME CHANGERS FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION – INCEPTION AND THE SOCIAL NETWORK

Game changers are people who altar the way people think, communicate, do things. The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences leads it’s “For Your Consideration” campaign charge with these two posters of potential nominees.

Inception by Christopher Nolan and The Social Network. “A Game Changer and An American Landmark.” True that.

KIM KARDASHIAN IS NOT PREGNANT WITH KANYE WEST’S BABY

Sometimes, the most ridiculous rumors start between Los Angeles and NYC. The latest was Kim Kardashian is pregnant to Kanye West. ”The rumors are absolutely not true,” Kardashian told People magazine. “I’m not pregnant.”

The story was started by gossip site MediaTakeOut, which reported a “world exclusive” that Kardashian was having the rapper’s baby.

Another example of how stars get cashed in, all the time–for Media take out’s benefit, and also Kanye’s fan base too. Kim was analyzed as being bing.com’s no.1 trending celebrity of 2010.

Basically–that means that she is now a touchstone star celebrity-template. To enter the fame game in 2011–at least one thing that makes Kim Kardashian a star, must be in your star mix to cut it and break through. She’s the standard. One of them anyway. Kanye’s already started this trend, early.

Mine is: “In 2011, I will have at least one Middle Eastern friend more visible and represented as a friend on this blog.” The rumor is funny though.

LEVI JOHNSTON IS THE 50TH HOTTEST STAR VOTED IN HOLLYWOOD 2010

America: The Forever Young Hunter & Protector

Levi Johnston, the ex almost-son-in-law of Republican Senator Sarah Palin and once boyfriend of her daughter Bristol Palin makes the top 50 stars voted in Hollywood this year on Horiwod.Com. He’s the underdog pin up boy of America. A country Woodsman tryer who just keeps getting smarter, step by step.

His year saw Playgirl shelling out $100,000 for Levi to pose naked. This shoot created a controversy for the 20 year-old father of son, Tripp. Johnston has since become ensconced in American cultural life.

He often appears on TV talk shows as his ex mother-in-law’s nemesis, a reoccurring starring role for Levi across the same talk shows as Palin has appeared on. America finds this entertaining.

Surprisingly, Levi Johnston rates in both India and Thailand as an American celebrity to keep an eye out for in 2011.

He is currently waging an election campaign as Mayor of Wasilla Alaska–Pallin’s former Mayoralty stomping ground. His ongoing campaign involved Levi stopping by The Big Gun Store today.

His career path, star template is “everything Sarah Palin does, Levi does too– either the same thing with a slight twist, or, the opposite.” This has made him a star. He’s the frenemy mini-me male version of Palin. The in-law turned out-law sporting guns.

Reports People: Levi is often seen being trailed by a reality TV camera crew for a show he has in the works titled: Loving Levi: The Road to the Mayor’s Office.

Levi Johnstone is proof that young people should be represented and stand for local politics and government politics too. A view the White House needs perhaps, as Levi’s popularity denotes as a trending topic this year. Last year his trending topic was that Levi was a teen parent.

This year a local candidate on the huntsman’s political trail in The Last Frontier of America is his hot trend transition. He is a young lad who like many country-raised fural folk, enjoy black powder shooting in his recreational time. He’s also a military pin up lad many soldiers can relate to abroad, estranged from their children and families. With a tenth of America registered as a veteran of war – Levi has quite a loyal fanbase, every time he’s spotted holding a hunstman’s gun. In a way he’s a young modern Davy Crockett King of The Wild Frontier from Greene County Tennessee, in American mythology of the 18th and 19th Century.

Perhaps if Levi held a Human Rights manual in his other hand every time he held a gun for publicity, he just might one day rise to be a well rounded Senator or President of promise. Congratulations Mr Johnston for making the top 50 celebrities this year, by democratic vote in Hollywood.

AMERICA IS BECOMING MORE BILINGUAL – CENSUS RESULTS 2010

To fully appreciate America in the 2020′s global citizens of the world could benefit from speaking Spanish to fully engage in American cultural life and its development forward.

Robert Groves of Census.Gov and team share information that proves that America is becoming more bilingual this year. Electorate seats will also be rezoned. Some lost.

“For the first time, we are providing a series of demographic analysis estimates to more clearly demonstrate the uncertainty in these figures,” said Census director Groves.

The numbers show the nation’s population ranged from 305.7 million to 307.4 million based on lower rates of immigration, which independent think-tanks such as the Pew Hispanic Center have said dropped off sharply recently due to the souring U.S. economy.

Sharing from The Washington Post, Census Gov says, ‘Hispanics accounted for all the growth in the youth population in the last decade. In 2000, Hispanics made up 17 percent of the U.S. population under age 20. They now represent somewhere between 22 and 25 percent of that age group.

African American News: ‘There were roughly 40.9 million to 41.7 million blacks in the U.S., based on a tabulation that includes Hispanic blacks. That would put the share of blacks at roughly 13 percent of the U.S. population.’

Hispanics Are Keeping America Young: ‘Without Hispanics, the number of young people in the U.S. would have declined between 2000 and 2010. Based on the estimates, the non-Hispanic youth population declined somewhere between 1.25 million and 2.9 million.’

Driving Force: ‘Hispanics are the driving force behind this youth diversity,” said Kenneth Johnson, a sociology professor at the University of New Hampshire, who reviewed the numbers.

SNOOP DOGGS! SIS UPS THE POWER OF GOVERNMENT OVER PRIVATE CITIZENS PHONE, PC INFO AND MOVEMENTS

While Prince Harry Windsor announced that he was interested in hiring Snoop Dogg for his brother Prince William‘s bachelor party celebrations, this is not the kind of fun Snoop Dogg experience New Zealanders are talking about today.

TV3 News reports via Deanna Harris: The Security Intelligence Service of New Zealand is to get greater powers to snoop into personal computers and electronically track people in their vehicles.

Prime Minister John Key has introduced the New Zealand SIS amendment bill designed to update the New Zealand Security and Intelligence Service Act 1969.

“The original legislation is over 40 years old and modernising it is long overdue,” says Mr Key.

“The bill updates the warrants framework, paying particular attention to electronic tracking devices, computer surveillance and technologies like mobile phones and cyber identities. In practice this does not change the threshold to obtain a warrant.

“In New Zealand the SIS currently issues approximately between 11 and 15 domestic warrants each year and I don’t expect number to alter because of the change in legislation.

“What the amendments do is bring the legal and technological framework around the New Zealand SIS up to date.”

The bill will have its first reading on Thursday.

Commentary: New Zealanders are very transparent people as a rule. When the New Zealand government collects this information, where exactly does it go? And why?

Whatever happens in New Zealand–always sets a precedent for other nations. New Zealand is always a guinea pig of new systems. Especially digital and “Snoop Dogg” systems. The bill needs updating for sure though. 1969, wow! The gov will at least need to know what is going on with Facebook. That’s the biggie.

JULIA GILLARD ON AUSTRALIA AND CHINA WIKILEAKS NEWS

According to the leaked wikileaks cable via ABC Australia, Ms Hilary Clinton asked for Australian Foreign Minister Mr Kevin Rudd‘s advice in March this year, on dealing with the growing power of China, asking him: “How do you deal toughly with your banker?

A brilliant point as the borrower is subject to the lender–as a general rule of thumb.

Mr Rudd said “China should be integrated into the international community but that countries should be prepared to “deploy force if everything goes wrong.”"  Read the rest of this entry »

POETIC LICENSE

Poetic License: “is a colloquial term, sometime euphenism, used to denote the distortion of fact, alteration of the conventions of grammar or language, or rewording of pre-existing text made by an artist to improve a piece of art. An example of artistic license is if a visual artist decided it was more artistically desirable to portray St Paul’s Cathedral next to the Houses of Parliament in a scene of London even though in reality they are not close together.  Read the rest of this entry »

MIRRORED INITIALED OPPOSITE NAMES – 12.6.10

A wise lady once told me–”everything has it’s own opposite.”

Isn’t it strange that at this moment in history when it comes to the initials of peoples names that:

Julian Assange‘s name is the reverse flip out of Angelina Jolie‘s name. And…

Chelsea Handler‘s name is the reverse flip out of Hillary Clinton‘s initials.

It’s about time Angelina and Hillary went for lunch and discussed what’s up–the Yarra river is a nice spot, I believe.

[Jennifer Aniston must be p*ssed Julian Assange has taken her 'flip out' name spot. Google search engine is now churning those consonants, with search engine spiders registering, Jennifer who? Incidentally Daniel Assange's name (son of Julian) also replaces David Arquettes.]

Family stories always win. A wise use of energy and focus invested. After all, nations and the wider world are a family.

JOHN BARROWMAN IS A SCOTTISH STAR WITH MUCHOS TALENT

Since the Pike River Coal Mine Blast first happened and two miners were discovered originating from Scotland, daily people have been requesting on this blog’s search engine for John Barrowman. He’s the star of Dr Who, the reboot series.

Barrowman identifies with being gay and he’s being groomed by the gay power set as a face of gay causes with a sci-fi theme. He appears in documentaries at the moment, that aim to have a scientific tone and sorta look like they’ve been conceptualized by 1/3rd of Dreamworks. I say this, because John bears a striking resemblance to someone like a Tom Cruise, from top lip up, but with a Michael Jackson chin thrown in from bottom lip down–and Dreamworks would definitely go for that in encroaching in on the MGM movie market. Barrowman could also be aligned to studios perhaps someone like Keanu Reeves works with also or, those kids from The Vampire Diaries TV show, with Paramount, for example if he wanted to give Hollywood a whirl-outside of Dreamworks circles of influence too for versatility of career paths forward.

When I look at Barrowman’s stellar resume, it’s like it’s been penned by a Geffen or an Andrew Lloyd Webber or Sir Elton John in planning his star trajectory via The UK, or something. It’s a little bit twee. Very taunt. In fact the only thing lacking on it is the film role credit of a remake of, A Star is Born, or something similar, which is set in the future and stars Barrowman and, of course, Lady Gaga. He could really help her sell her next album. He might even be able to teach her how to act and become a movie star. Gaga could be the next Liza Minelli.

Jokes aside, Barrowman is very talented. He’s even done a duet of You’re So Vein – the song that Carly Simon had a hit with, while being managed by David Geffen, perhaps showing a good sense of humor. Barrowman is a quadruple threat who makes many other stars look like they missed out in the talents department. He can sing, act, host, MC, dance. Lately he’s been appearing in scientific looking documentaries, crying on cue too. What one must do as a willing guinea pig for the appearance of scientific experiments, this actor has a monopoly on. I say this because a good actor will do what the world or powers that be require of them to do. If they don’t in this tight economy with restricted movement their chances of moving ahead are thin, if they don’t. I (billy goat) kid you not.

DAVID WILD BREAKS DOWN VH1 DIVAS SHOW WITH A MILITARY PLAYLIST

David Wild is a writer for The Rolling Stone magazine here in America, here’s his thoughts as guest commentary via Huffington Post today on the VH1 Diva’s Show:

“This week, I had the great honor of spending a few days working as a producer and writer on The USO Presents VH1 Divas Salute The Troops that airs tonight on VH1 at 9PM and internationally on the Armed Forces Network. The show itself is a real blast in a decidedly non-military sense that’s hosted hilariously by Kathy Griffin, and featuring winning musical performances by Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, Sugarland, Keri Hilson, Paramore, Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, as well as appearances by literally everyone from our First Lady Michelle Obama to “Snooki” and “The Situation” from Jersey Shore, including comedian Jeffrey Ross, MC Lyte and Brandy, who I think we all can agree is technically a better dancer than Bristol Palin.”

His playlist that honors everyone whose ever served a concept of freedom and peace in US military service is as follows:

FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK (WE SALUTE YOU) – AC/DC
BOOGIE WOOGIE BUGLE BOY – The Andrews Sisters
KEEP ON ROCKIN’ IN THE FREE WORLD – Neil Young
BORN FREE – Kid Rock
THE MARINES’ HYMN – The United States Marine Band
ONLY IN AMERICA – Brooks & Dunn
BORN IN THE USA – Bruce Springsteen
BROTHERS IN ARMS – Dire Straits
AMERICA – Neil Diamond
COMING HOME – John Legend
THANK YOU – Led Zeppelin
HOLIDAY – Green Day
DRESSED UP TO WIN – Irving Berlin
THE HOUSE I LIVE IN – Frank Sinatra
GOD BLESS THIS MESS – Sheryl Crow
ARMY DREAMERS – Kate Bush
AMERICAN GIRL – Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers
LIVING IN AMERICA – James Brown
I THANK YOU – Sam & Dave
ARLINGTON – Trace Adkins
GALVESTON – Glen Campbell
DEAR UNCLE SAM – Loretta Lynn
FORTUNATE SON – Creedence Clearwater Revival
WHEN I GET WHERE I’M GOING – Brad Paisley
SOLDIER’S LAST LETTER – Merle Haggard
UNIVERSAL SOLDIER – Donovan
AMERICAN SOLDIER – Toby Keith
TRAVELIN’ SOLDIER – Dixie Chicks
THIS LAND IS YOUR LAND – Woody Guthrie

There are so many good songs in here. I’d have to go for Loretta Lynn, Led Zepplin, Merle Haggard, Brad Paisley, Creedence Clearwater Revival, James Brown, Sheryl Crow, Bruce Springsteen, The Andrews Sisters, Neil Diamond and perhaps my favorite, Dire Straits on guitar and vocal. Good stuff David Wild. Thanks.

I can’t remember government ever saying what VH1 Diva’s should perform before? So this is a first.

HEKIA PARATA’S APPOINTMENT AS A CABINET MINISTER OF NEW ZEALAND PARLIAMENT IS CELEBRATED IN HOLLYWOOD – 12.6.10

[Blue Balloons as photographed by MP Katrina Shanks/Michael Woodhouse Media Group]

Hollywood California USA (Monday 6th December 2010)–A toast was raised in Hollywood today at West Hollywood’s Chateau Marmont at the announcement that Hekia Parata has been promoted as a Cabinet Minister of New Zealand.

Ms. Parata becomes Ethnic Affair’s and Women’s Affairs Minister. She also picks up associate minister roles for Accident Compensation Commission, Energy and Resources and for The Community and Voluntary Sector. The latter is a new role and was requested by Community and Voluntary Sector Minister Tariana Turia, who said she did not need an associate for disability issues any more.

Prime Minister of New Zealand, last sighted wearing a Muhammad Ali boxing silky robe in a charity auction for burns sufferers, Mr John Key, announced Ms Parata’s appointment at a post Cabinet press conference today, saying he believed she was the most deserving of the position.

“When it comes to Hekia, I think she’s extraordinarily talented,” he said.

At the news Hekia Parata said, “All New Zealanders understand these have been challenging times both domestically, and internationally. The National-led Government continues to face up to those challenges on behalf of all Kiwis. I look forward to doing my part to help all our communities realise the dream of a brighter future.”

“I look forward to getting my feet under the desk and learning all I can about the portfolios the Prime Minister has entrusted me with. I’m excited about the prospect of serving the public of New Zealand in a Ministerial role and the new challenges this will bring.”

Hollywood Maori-Kiwi blogger Sam Cruickshank met with Hollywood friends to toast one glass of Veuve Clicquot in honor of Ms. Parata’s very timely appointment on the global stage of politics. Her leadership will be very welcomed in California, where Maori-Kiwi filmmakers of Ms. Parata’s tribe of Ngati Porou have presented films to the world that have been Oscar nominated twice in Los Angeles cinematic history and body of work to date.

Hekia’s skills in diplomacy are an asset to New Zealand’s growth potential that are key to growing the New Zealand economy in win-win diplomatic partnerships of the future. In particular Parata’s destiny to lead the charge on many human rights issues affecting women on a global stage is something to watch as her international political career unfolds along with her New Zealand cabinet portfolios.

Her capacity of heart is similar to an advocate of oppressed peoples of the world, on the scale of an Angelina Jolie, if Ms. Parata is allowed to and also funded to by the New Zealand people to express that from New Zealand for the world.

Her gifts of noho-puku (EQ) instinctual intelligence and their full and free expression to be vibrant and creative make Ms. Parata exceptionally talented and exciting as a political leader serving New Zealand and The World with her gifts.

She’s known in Hollywood as a global star of politics already.

PRAY FOR SAMUEL KOCH OF GERMANY’S WETTEN DAS GAME SHOW, A VICTIM OF PARALYSIS IN THE NAME OF FUN TURNED NASTY

According to New York City’s Mickey K, the world is advised by Justin Bieber to pray for a Samuel Koch on young Justin Bieber’s twitter feed. This news is so twitter-disturbia inducing news, that it makes me want to listen to some music by the Grecian-Canadian artist Ko Kapches, just so I can get through reading this news.

Justin was scheduled to perform on the popular German game show Wetten Dass. However, contestant Samuel Koch had a nasty accident with a motor vehicle in a scheduled game to entertain (namely a car driving straight at him) which has resulted in the doctor treating Koch saying to media that the prognosis of young Samuel is: “spinal chord damaged, injuries to neck vertebrae with slight paralysis evident. He is still talking though.”

Injuries are believed to be “not serious.” Sounds excrutiating to me, just the post traumatic stress disorder of this unexpected accident–no matter what this ‘hush hush puppies’ doctor says. It makes me think of every single soldier whose been injured in war ever, or every person trapped in mines, injured or who even died in these two arena’s of global life at the moment. Samuel’s footage of injury we get to actually see. Ouch. We feel it, we resonate with it. Pain and injuries are real, they are shocking–they are not cool.

ENTITLED CHELSEA HANDLER NEEDS TO TRAVEL TO A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY, ADOPT OR BREED ABOUT NOW, THAT’S ALL HER ANGELINA JOLIE DISSING RANTS REVEAL

The wikileaks scandal taught us that it is writers typed words that are often more important than the faces that present this ‘truth’ or information.

Up until now, I have liked Chelsea Handler, the Jewish-Catholic girl from New Jersey who slept with her boss, to keep her job on E! Entertainment and rise as a talk show star of Los Angeles of younger funnier women on the block in California.

Handler’s claim to fame is saying the word gay as many times as she possibly can in one taped episode of her talk show. She actually doesn’t have a real gay brother, but she pretends she’s the sister of people who identify with being gay. So many American girls are famous with the gay word and a bottle of peroxide it all gets a bit thin when so many compete against each other as a base to fame with this tactic.

Basically, this is Chelsea’s gig. She dyes her hair blonde and then says “gay, gay, gay” a million times, to be funny and famous. It’s so thin to me, her whole schtick. Normally though, she’s quite funny with her jokes gay writers have written for her. I have laughed at her on many occasion–because Chelsea’s writers are kind of ridiculous with Chelsea as their puppet face. I always look at the writing, whether that be in entertainment, politics or business–not the face presenting the information alone. Writers are funnier and just as authentic to me, than presenters.

Now Handler is dissing Angelina Jolie in “supposed to be comedy live shows” Read the rest of this entry »

CASSIUS CLAY’S “IN YOUR FACE TEE SHIRT” FOR BASKETBALL GAMES AND RUGBY FOOTBALL TRAINING SESSIONS

Looking after Hollywood’s future box office stars, with unique stories for the world, for California economy’s interests is what this blog post is about. Keeping such stars alive, could prove to be a challenge–hence this post.

Wow! Cassius Clay‘s In Your Face official tee shirt, in military khaki green issue, would make a great tee shirt to wear to basketball hoop games on the local block of Australia with mates or at rugby football, rugby league matches and Aussie rules football practice too each week.

I discovered it, on this post about innocent Australian young fella Daniel Assange of Melbourne. Go here to buy it for $19..99 to impress your friends and family, and make your hood a little bit more colorful and fun–like how a community of sporting champions, roll and celebrate cool people.

Daniel’s precious life and youthful potential is currently being threatened and bullied when he’s an innocent Australian young person of the world. Shocking stuff! This tee shirt is very relevant in New Zealand and Australia right at this second as well as All-ways Being relevant in American hoods and South Africa hoods too equally any day of the year. It’s a symbol of greatness and fairness, apparently.

THE ALI TIN TOTE IS KINDA HOT FOR LUNCH AT THE WORLD BOX OFFICE TODAY

Guess what? I noticed that we can buy the Ali tin tote to take to your office for lunch every day, while wearing a suit a tie.

It’s kind of rocking good hot–in a who you lunch with, knock out, corporate way. Like, if you have a lunch box tote like this–you’d better be lunching with the right people and not a bunch of pretentious time wasters. It’s what this tote symbolizes to me anyway.

Go here to Ali’s official website to buy it for your office team and their lunches in creating a team of champions at your unique box office. It’s purchasable for only $15. What a score! Go here. American history at its finest.

Ali was an original American Lord of the Ring! A civil rights champion for the world not just America. As a Maori-Kiwi I totally dig it. The tote holds meaning to me.

26 CONSONANTS AS SYMBOLS THAT DEFINE MEANING, AND GOOGLE’S POWER OBSESSION TO OWN THE WAY THEY ARE USED

A consonant’s single power to define, reorder meaning in a collective of consonants–and who owns their arrangement in “words” that form “meaning” to create “laws” that protect and privilege certain people over others, in “books” or corporate or government “notes” and leaked “documents”– is the top trend in the world today–this week. It’s all about information sharing of consonants and written symbols today as collected via computer technology–and who has a right to “distribute” these consonants arrangement on a data file or printed page (being digitalized) to fellow human beings, supposedly deeply affected by these “words” and “consonants” arrangement and ordering of expression.

Are letters (written consonants/ symbols of a few people) more important than the lives of the majority of people?

Do we worship the iconography of our own words and their protection more so than lives being lost every second?

Do consonants really determine Freedom? Or, is freedom shared in the spirit of brotherhood worldwide — bigger and more spiritual than written consonants alone devoid of human bodies, flesh, blood, melanin and bone and breath–transcending the limitations of just the letter of the law? I think the true essence and meaning of Liberty is. Living words are always so much more what we all serve. Or should. Not death words or death systems words for the majority of people on the planet.

Which is why I think a war of data distribution “ownership” and “protection of certain peoples words over another’s” or “exclusion of some peoples words from finding other peoples eyes and ears too” is a little silly.

It reeks of entitlement of a few–and that’s an archaic model that isn’t serving the majority of peoples interests in the world today in many political systems. The world is changing –keep UP!

I was thinking that with the Wikileaks scandal, with Google’s scanning of every Victorian book ever printed in the 19th Century, and also every book ever printed–that the world is getting a little bit obsessed about owning the 26 consonants of the English language, how they have been used in history, how they are being arranged today–and what meaning these 26 letters can create.

So for all of the power freaks in the world, who want to own all words ever written and printed (with 26 letters of the English alphabet), want to control their distribution, and definitive ‘scientific’ arrangement and meaning–my suggestion is, that perhaps: a) you dropped out of school too young, b) you always wanted to be a writer but never had the talent c) your sibling got more alphabet soup in their plate than you did–because this ‘control obsession’ with data ownership based on ownership of words and symbols of letters is getting a bit ridiculous.

You see, true creativity is a symbol of endless power that is not stuck, static or frozen. Meaning is created by such people that is relevant in any era we all live in.

True creative people create new words all the time, that can never be controlled. Once upon a time, Beyonce in the group Destiny’s Child coined the term “bootylicious” to express an African American form of sexiness in order to bring awareness to her difference and to create space for her peoples’ unique representation in the world. It was a ridiculous word, yet the people decided it wasn’t. The word became a no. 1 hit pop song and is now entered into and included into the English dictionary of globally understood meaning.

[Images from Google Books, home page today, top banner visuals as at ]. FYI, I haven’t read one of these books and never once felt the need to. We have amazing authors in New Zealand like Janet Frame and Patricia Grace–all of whose books I haven’t read yet–before these lads writing books would get a look in, to my reading glasses. However, this is who google touts what we should all be reading today. Wow!]

MELBOURNE’S DANIEL ASSANGE TALKS DAD’S “AUDACIOUS AWESOMENESS”

Daniel Assange has a story that could be as big as The Social Network film. His own life story.

If you’ve ever seen the movie, The Castle - Daniel’s story could be like this, except the ‘house’ isn’t a house it’s a website company his dad owns calls wikileaks. An airport (metaphor for foreign diplomats, dubious bankers, sketchy insurance people et al) all want to land on it and kill his father, maybe innocent Daniel too. Scandalous kid’s story–and Melbourne is such a chilled out happy multicultural city. There’s over 48 different nationalities who’ve settled there not too far from the Yara river. It’s always fun in Melbourne. Lots of smiles all round in this community-minded Cosmopolitan City. But not so for Daniel–he’s now an international target because he is the son of a man of mystery. Basically his father is the James Bond, or The Mission Impossible ‘maybe spy’ of this Century so far. All over computers and what information anyone can gather with data code created by people working in systems dependent on being addicted to typing, with those 26 consonants that make up the English (and American) written language. To own private control of data, makes people feel more powerful–but the thing is, this is a myth, because many people can own that data–you just don’t know it.

In a way, if you’re one of these people feeling more entitled to anyone else who uses a computer and typed data, and you feel your sense of power is being eroded because someone else can access your typed information–then grow up. You live in a bubble of false privilege and insecurity based on an identity in owning your own consonants arrangement on a computer screen, that can then be printed and shared. You need to find a deeper sense of identity and personal power than data ownership. Don’t get mad at Daniel’s father for teaching US all the obvious lesson and updating us all in the age of computer technology. Anyway, this is Daniel’s father’s story (mainly) so far. It’s box office shattering hot–all the way across the world from Melbourne Australia. Who would have thought?

Daniel is the 20 year old Melbourne-based, computer programmer son of Julian Assange founder of Wikileaks.

According to the website Crikey: Now with extra source, ‘When Daniel was 16 Julian asked him to join him in a website he called WikiLeaks. According to the news blog Crikey Daniel was sceptical and, not being on the best of terms with his father, declined. ”I never thought he was going to succeed,” he told the blog. Now Daniel seems to have warmed to WikiLeaks. On his website he wrote: ”I have much respect for my father and his cause, and these ridiculously ill-handled allegations of sexual abuse serve only to distract from the audacious awesomeness that he has actually done.”

Julian was born to a sixteen year-old single parent mom when his dad was 19. When he was one, his mother fled with him. Read the rest of this entry »
