This Christmas billboard in my home country of New Zealand made me laugh out loud today in Hollywood.
It is such the Kiwi sense of humor to do something this ridiculous. You can’t really get mad at the billboard as nobody can outdo God.
Christmas is the weirdest concept to understand all of the divine and intricate mysteries of… even at the best of times. It’s about how “baby” Jesus created His earthly parents centuries before He was conceived by one of them via immaculate conception.
He even created the concept and art of sex, that His earthly parents would one day have and enjoy with each other after He was born. That’s so radical! and each year billions celebrate this Christmas concept each year in the world.
This billboard from New Zealand deals with the very human aspect only … of coming to grips with the great mystery of the Christmas story. The billboard reads more like a pop art cartoon ad for Viagra and is a commentary of our Tiger Woods-esque sex-driven times… than the real story of Christmas.
Who doesn’t feel like Joseph in this billboard some days? That’s why the billboard is amusing. Love it! Aren’t Kiwi’s so freaking funny?!!! And so creative and naughty! Fancy doing a Viagra commercial and pretending it was about Christmas? Poor Mary and Joseph being used in this way to grab a headline. :)
