New Music and new music artists are what fuels LA’s drive time traffic each day in Los Angeles. For those of you who view Horiwood.Com on your iphones, blackberrys with mobile telephony, this post is especially for you.
Smashproof is hip hop group from New Zealand, featuring Brotha Sid. They do better hip hop music than Kanye West, but without the bad behavior. They’re bad, just doing good music. You feel the hori struggle against oppression in Smashproof‘s sound. It’s authentic hip hop music and we like that here in Hollywood on Horiwood.Com.
Ordinary life is Smashproof’s third single. Being a hori (aka Maori) like Smashproof are, from New Zealand, I spent my teens growing up on a dairy farm. The small town community rural life, was more country in that Taylor Swift and Brad Paisley kind of way, than LA hip hop. It was a quiet life, ruled by sun up to sundown and the patterns of daylight cast across a beautiful farmscape. It’s ironic that I hated the country bumpkin life as a teenager and couldn’t wait to move to a big city. My, how reflection is a beautiful thing. The landscapes of New Zealand are exquisite in hindsight.
Smashproof’s Ordinary Life music video, reminds me of my teens. Enjoy, the great views, the simplicity of friends, neighborhood and family. And… some of the best hip hop music in the world.
Special shout out to Rachel W of Auckland, for all the support you’ve given Smashproof and young Sid’s dreams to be hip hop stars. Sid, you’re world famous in Hollywood. Thanks Rachel W for your marketing skills and the great friend that you are to all artists! You’re the best!!! I hope you’re still songwriting too! Go girl!
Alright, my fellow Angelinos, pump up the volume on those phones. Let’s go, it’s LA drive time. The hottest hour of music in the world!!! You know it.
