Hollywood’s Queen of hearts and refugees world wide, Angelina Jolie stopped by in Kenya, Saturday.
Jolie arrived at the Somali-Kenyan border’s Dadaab Refugee Camp. The camp was originally built for 90,000 people, but now holds 285,000 Somalis who fled for their lives to Kenya.
Jolie has been a United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees since 2001 and she’s visited many nations to stare into the faces of the refugee crises. Such nations include: Sierra Leone, The Balkans, Namibia, Thailand, Cambodia, Pakistan, Ecuador and Tanzania.
Of hanging out at the world’s coal face of the refugee struggle, Angelina Jolie says:
“I’ve become a better human being. I’ve learned the strength of the human spirit. I see different aid workers in camps helping each other from everywhere –people who have come together from all over the world to lend a helping hand. It’s really changed my view of what is actually important. I’m not concerned with things I used to be so concerned with. I feel that now I’m of some use to other people in the world.”
She’s our Hollywood hero! To make a difference to those in need is the purpose of every blessing and good fortune we may have in this world. I love this woman!
