This dreamlike magazine cover is kind of amazing. It’s very messianic though, like a crucified image of Christ bleeding for the world.
As if, Michael would have bled for the world?! But perhaps he did as a tortured artist in his own way.
I once saw Jacko in concert in New Zealand. It was amazing, but he spent a third of the concert, singing in this exact same pose (I kid you not), and a lot of that time was spent suspended in the air, standing on the platform of a giant white crane with his arms outstretched high above the stage and crowd. We could barely see him! And his backup dancers weren’t as fascinating as Jackson as dynamic as they were.
But Michael Jackson sure did feel comfortable up there in the clouds. Janet Jackson in concert was actually much better, with the way she interacted with the crowd in concert. So the Jackson musical legacy is still in great hands.
However, this cover is in one word… beautiful! In another word… it’s art.
Beautiful Art! Nice one People Magazine. A fine tribute indeed. Iconic.

Thank you for the comparison
