See it to believe it, but the passing of the King of Pop is big world news. Being based here in Hollywood, California and watching hours of TV news footage on Michael Jackson’s death, as well as witnessing Newspaper Page 1s devoted to MJ, makes me recall momentous occasions like the tragic death of Lady Dianna and jubilant moments like the election of President Barack Obama.
No cultural influencer has been remembered this way, like Michael Jackson has been worldwide, Friday. What a huge impact MJ had on pop culture, music, entertainment and as an ambassador that transcended social times of race, color, prejudice to pave a way for all brilliant public figures of color to be recognized for their talent and genius, not just the color of their skin.
