The brilliant cast of Gossip Girl has been slammed recently with scriptwriting problems that simply are not recession relevant. The writers of Gossip Girl could learn from the train wrecks that are The Gosselins when it comes to TV ratings.
TLC network has just commisioned 40 episodes of Jon & Kate Gosselin’s Reality TV series, Jon & Kate Plus 8. They want to keep the Gosselin’s on the drip to milk money from advertisers to their network in droves. 9.8 million people waching Jon & Kate’s new season’s premiere episode over the holiday weekend made their show the most-watched program of the night. It’s a record breaker in ratings for TLC.
TLC’s released statement said: “The show’s ratings have grown consistently, as there has been interest in these real-life issues of this real-life family. We will continue to air as the interest continues, and the family wants to do it.”
Can Jon put up with Kate’s neurotic ambition a bit longer? Yeah, he will. Of course he will! More Jon & Kate Plus 8, are on their way to small screens near you.
It also marks the new template of future reality shows during recession climate times. Hollywood be afraid. But this is great for program makers outside of LA. Go people! Your time has come.
Gossip Girl cast, perhaps doing reality TV as well as film could be a career move for the future. Just make sure you’re down as a producer on any reality TV show you do. Okay? Wouldn’t you like to see a reality TV Show, called Chace Crawford’s Road To Footloose? Yeah, I know you would! :)
