After seeing Jennifer Hudson perform LIVE with Robin Thicke at the Nokia Theater in LA this month, I was blown away by the star’s strength of spirit.
In her latest interview with Essence Magazine, Jennifer Hudson opens up about the slaying of her Momma and how devastating this truly was to the oscar winning actresss and power house singer.
In Essence Mag Jennifer says that she was ”mama’s baby” and was the apple of her momma’s eye: “I’d go and sleep in her bed until I was 15 years old.” Her mom was her earth that grounded her. Hudson says that David Ortega received her mother’s blessing to marry her. Bonus, chalk it David!
Otunga says, “She doesn’t have to worry about losing me. I’m always going to be right here.” That’s really cool of David, but doh! … who wouldn’t stick with Jennifer. She’s a babe!
Like everything that Jennifer does, like when she sings the power hit, You Pulled Me Through, you know that Jennifer draws her strength from a higher power. She’s totally all about God. She says: “The thing that keeps me going is knowing that God is in control,” says Hudson. “It’s like, if he placed me here then I must be prepared.”
She’s a gospel singing Queen done good and this is her secret to surviving the storms in life. May love and life and liberty, always be this diva’s strength. I’m a big fan of hers. She inspires da hope in the US of A!
