SUPER MOM: NADYA SULEMAN’S REALITY TV SERIES CONCEPT & FORMATS BY HORIWOOD PRODUCTIONS

sulemanrealittvAlright, putting my TV producer thinking cap on as ‘Horiwood Productions TV Producer,’ here are my thoughts for a potential reality TV show for Nadya Suleman.

Remember the hit family-comedy TV show, Eight is Enough? Well, Nadya Suleman really has two TV shows going on in her own home.

First there is the Eight is Enough show, that she just gave birth to. That show is about mothering young newborn infants simultaneously.

Then there is The Orginal Six TV show about mothering a set of twins and four other older children with different developmental needs requiring much needed, motherly or adult attention. All of  these children are under the age of eight.

I think the show should be called (working title only), 6 + 8 as that explains and defines the drama of the show, where the additional eight is where the dramatic tension lies, for one woman, and one mother to be able to handle and manage raising. (It would also help Nadya Suleman to count, if her show was called something arithmetic like! I kid, I’m sure Nadya can count better than most of us).

The show, should inter cut between these two main core components of Suleman’s mothering attention. The main attraction will be on the Octuplets, but the other six  children would be great content too, away from the core octuplet’s story. The trick to a successful TV series, depicting Sulaman in the best light, is for Nadya to be seen to care about all of children equally. Therein lies the golden success of her reality show. It’s a story about a mother’s love and also a story about all humanity being equal.

Either way, with the magic of reality TV, it’s an action packed storyline, with all 14 younger characters of the show, being primarily dependent on one adult person, who defines their world, Nady Suleman.

So, this is a show starring Nadya Suleman and an edited diary of her busy daily schedule. Because her schedule is so jam packed with life revolving around her children and managing her family’s needs as the adult in the situation, she will automatically appear to be a Super Mom, with the magic of TV editing.

In fact, I know it’s a leap from Octo-Mom’s derogatory stigmatic connotations, that the term Octo-Mom has imbibed for Nadya’s perception and personality by her critics, as a media coined term, but I would not be adversed to the show being called, Super Mom. Either that, or 6 + 8 are my two favorite names for Suleman’s reality show.

I would have the show firmly grounded in the reality, of ‘what children need’ in terms of their health and development. All parents of young children could learn a lot as reality TV vehicle of infotainment into child raising kids well.

80% of the content would be child health and child care related to protect Suleman and to ensure that she is percieved as a good mother. 20% of the content would be the ‘spectacular,’ more show  biz moments of her life, like the photo shoots, the interviews, the endorsement and commercials she will garner, as the babies mature.

These spectacular, more glamorous moments of Suleman’s and the family’s lives (which pay the bills) I’d used as commercial glossy breathers, like quick commercial breaks within the show, between all of the more gritty reality parts of child-raising that the show should consist of.

If Suleman was smart, she would sign a deal, whereby she owned all of the original footage of the show. The production company could borrow from her archival library to make their TV series of her life, but all of the entire raw footage would be the property of Nadya Suleman.

To  achieve this Suleman, should start her own production company and hire an editor (or a director/ editor), who will create webisodes online, for all eight of the octuplets as individuals. A short, edited video upload of footage of each octuplet, could be uploaded to the web everyday on Nadya Suleman’s own pay-for-access YouTube Channel. Viewers could get a yearly subscription to view extra footage at home outside of the reality TV series. Then Suleman is also a TV producer too, and is a working mom as well, who has final say as to what airs from her home.

The money earned by viewer’s yearly subscription feature for access to Suleman’s octuplet’s private channel, could go into each child’s college fund for their better future as young Americans.

The octuplets progress could also be monitored by medical experts too and Suleman gets paid twice with the footage outside of just ‘the one reality TV show.’ Her primary need is that Suleman needs money, to adequately provide, house, care for, feed and develop these children’s well being and futures. That’s why I gave this some thought.

What are your suggestions for a Nadya Suleman Reality TV Show that would benefit her and her family in the long run?

Either way, product endorsements, once the show gets going, and has a proven audience who percieve the show in a good light, is bound to come on board.

Suleman will hopefully wisely create a vehicle for quality product placement endorsements within her reality TV show, that will best benefit her family and her own peace of mind and well being too.

Then Suleman, can also concentrate on needs that all mothers and adults have, like finding a love interest who could take care of her as a loving partner. Clearly, this must be something lodged in the back of Suleman’s subconscious that she must need to sustain her for the task at hand that she faces.

At Horiwood.Com, we wish Nadya Suleman all the very best! It does not matter if you misjudge something when you plan a project or one’s life, it’s more what you do with what you’ve learnt along the way, and that you do something great with it, that is the true American story.

Go honey!!! You can do it and prove your critics wrong. I look forward to seeing your show. Choose a production company wisely. In fact, why don’t People magazine co-produce the show with Suleman, and sign a multi-year production deal and call the show Little People. That would be befitting to their celebrity babies website, that’s for sure. With Suleman and her children, the possibilities are endless, really!
